Lupie’s Café has a cute, cozy building and the service was great, but the food itself was pretty basic. The meatloaf tasted more like plain hamburger with some onions and light seasoning. And the Cincinnati chili… definitely not like any version I’ve had before. Overall, friendly spot, but the food just didn’t hit for us.

20251017: Lupie's is a fun, historic café for home-cooked main meals. My friend wanted me us to visit Lupie's because it's new to me.

Each of us had one of their daily special quiches. We each truly enjoyed the ones we ordered. They came with a small salad of iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes, and sliced fruit of apple and orange.

Lupie's Cafe is located on the southside of the Elizabeth neighborhood and is one of Charlotte's most well known restaurants. You know you're in a low down neighborhood dive when you drink water from ball mason jars. There is something quintessentially southern about ball mason jars and the many uses for them.
