Eaten here a few times. Food and staff always good. However tonight’s dining experience was lessened by a constant crying, whining, loud, fussing two or 3 year old little boy during our entire meal. His parents did nothing. The waitress even asked if he was ok, and the mother said he was just tired. 😳 Other patrons (and other wait staff) were visibly bothered as well and some asked for the manager. An entire room of paying patrons were subject to this. At what point does something need to be said or done??
We left as soon as we could - no dessert or anything. we did see the manager appear a few minutes before we left — so not sure if anything was said or done but totally disappointed the parents lacked any sense or common courtesy to their surroundings — this wasn’t McDonalds. We brought half our food home. Wish management would’ve/could’ve done something sooner. Not the kid’s fault. This was a total failure on the parents. Unreal. Still a great place to eat but we’ll leave much sooner if this happens again.

Walked in to a very unpleasant host. Was not greeted she simply looked at me and waited for me to speak. We did not have reservations and was willing to wait but first impressions was everything. We left!

Our waitress Stephanie U. was very sweet and accommodating. She made sure what we got was what we wanted and would like. She even remembered I didn’t like onions when I ordered my salad which was very thoughtful. The food was just as amazing as the service was. 11/10 would recommend this place.

We had my daughter’s baby shower here today . Thank you to David and the wonderful servers! The food was excellent! The meatballs were amazing. Also thank you to Lauren Theadore ( events planner ) for making it all happen! Lauren answered every question that I had and got back to me ASAP. Thank you all for making my daughters day so special!!!

Heard about this place and seems to be always packed weekend evenings. We couldn't really find a parking spot so took it to go - got the pizza, lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. Even to-go there was a bit of a wait ... so the pizza, the ingredients were great, nice flavor to it, the dough was still a bit doughy, could be crispier and I will put it in the oven and give it another shot tomorrow. However I will say the spaghetti and meatballs is one of the most basic dishes and how I grade an italian restaurant and it was a bit dry, the portion was huge, but the meatballs had a meatloaf consistency to it as well. I really wanted to like it and I will give it another shot and dine in person on another night.

Definitely the best Italian food in Charlotte my girlfriend the time now fiancé have come here so many times and it’s always been a great experience. Chocolate cake is one of my favorite dessert of all time even though we don’t live in Charlotte anymore when we visit, we make sure to stop by.

With all the glowing reviews online, you might wonder if Mama Ricotta’s really needs another five-star review, but it’s absolutely worth sharing my experience. Clearly, they’re doing something right. My husband first had lunch there on a Monday and was so impressed that by Wednesday, he insisted we go back together. I’m glad we did!
The staff was incredibly friendly, with everyone making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. As an Arnold Palmer connoisseur, I can confidently say they have one of the best I’ve ever tasted—perfectly balanced and refreshing.
The goat cheese and mascarpone dip was incredible—creamy, flavorful, and paired with a delightful bread that made it impossible to stop eating. The Greek yogurt Caesar salad (full size) is generously portioned and perfect for sharing. For the mains, we tried the pappardelle with tomato basil sauce and house-made sausage, which was rich and satisfying, with beautifully balanced flavors. The penne alla vodka with Parmesan chicken lived up to its stellar reputation—it’s no exaggeration to say it’s a must-try dish.
We were so impressed with our experience that we’ve already booked Christmas Eve dinner here for when the in-laws visit. If you’re looking for a spot with hearty portions, exceptional flavors, and warm hospitality, run, don’t walk, to Mama Ricotta’s. It’s a dining experience you won’t forget!

The food was so good and the service was amazing. The manager was so nice and so was our waiter. When I couldn’t pick a drink he asked what I would normally drink and the bartender could make something similar. They did and it was so good! An amazing date night thank you!

I had the Pollo Bianco -- Scallopini-style chicken layered with prosciutto and mozzarella in a Chianti wild mushroom sauce. Served with today's vegetable and garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious. The chicken was super tender -- could cut with a fork.
