Original Chicken & Ribs

The food was not tasty. Waited 25 minutes for food. The serving was too small for the amount of money spent. The ribs were so very tough. The Mac and cheese was alright. The greens were bland. I drove 30 mins from Concord and spent $27. Totally not worth it 😒. I was so disappointed.

I tried the food here for the first time. I had the white meat chicken dinner with baked bean and mac n cheese. The chicken was very good. Crispy season well and was not greasy I really liked the chicken. The mac n cheese was good it was baked solid but not over cooked or dry or salty. Now I didn't like the baked beans. It was beans and weenies I didn't like the beans at all.

Great service! Great food! Great prices! I’ve lived in the neighborhood since 2019 and decided to give it a try tonight. There is so much on the menu I am for sure going back for more! Great for a Friday night meal.

I tried this place yesterday and was extremely appalled and disappointed at what I received. I ordered pork ribs with sauce on the side and this is what I saw when I got home.(see picture) The ribs were not done & pink on the inside. Being that this is a “rib joint” i thought the ribs would be from a grill. I immediately went back to the restaurant and showed them my plate. I was told by the lady up front that they bake their ribs. The worker up front was polite (which is why I gave an extra star) but I could not understand how a cook would serve this and not think anything of it. Unacceptable. I will not be back

Walked in & greeted nicely by a young cashier . She was eating an orange at the register like that’s appropriate. Ordered my meal Fat boy & chicken wings. Got home the burger was extremely dry (definitely not made fresh to order)& the crinkle fries were dried out definitely re- dropped fries from under the heat lamp. I worked in a restaurant for over 20 years & went to culinary school as well & definitely know the despicable tricks of the trade. The wings weren’t anything special either. They were edible only because I was hungry , spent a small fortune ,& wasn’t going home to cook. I love my black owned businesses but just like commercialized franchises they too are losing their passion to deliver good hot food. There is no passion involved , it’s all about spending top $ for a mediocre product. The best part of the meal was a dinner roll & a mixed beverage of grape, fruit punch ,& lemonade . I definitely will NOT be patronizing this staple in the community again. Money takes time to come by & I will be spending mines at an eatery that cares about delivering hot , fresh yumminess to its guests. I’m writing this not to discourage but to encourage the difference makers to make changes because there is always competition waiting to snatch your faithfuls away.

I waited on hold to place my order for 10 minutes and when she finally came back to the phone she asked to take my order then hung up on me. I called back and told her what she had done, then told her I would go elsewhere to eat.

I paid 9 dollars and got q piece of fish on a thick bun Wow...ridiculous!

Their fried pork chop sandwich on bread is the best. I enjoy eating their chicken liver, although I don't care for liver. I appreciate good service and tasty food. I am a regular at this restaurant. Thank you!

This is the worst food I ever had. I order the chicken and rib combo. the chicken was extremely small, I asked for my ribs dry, they covered them in sauce. The baked beans had some chopped meat and grilled sliced Vienna sausages. I have never in my life had Vienna sausages in my baked beans. Is that a Charlotte thing?!? I spent $60 on 2 plates and cake that I didn't even eat.

I noticed this spot because I have to pass it on my way to campus & it seemed like a real mom & pop restaurant so I was really eager to try it. It’s a very small restaurant, the ordering area can maybe hold 6 people comfortably. There is outside seating that seem like it could be very cozy on a good weather day. I ordered a Rib & Wing dinner combination. You could choice between Pork or beef ribs, light meat, dark meat or 3 wings! I chose the pork ribs & 3 wings with my sauce on the side. For the side I had French fries & collard greens! I love the crinkled cut fries and how they were seasoned. The collard greens didn’t have enough unique flavor for my liking but they were not bad. The chicken wings were good & the ribs were nice & meaty. I tried the homemade lemonade & it was perfect. I have tasted nice sweet lemonade that good in along time. I would definitely go back to try other items off the menu. The two ladies at took the orders (Neveah) both were very nice & answered all my many questions about the restaurant and the menu. Both ladies made my visit welcoming.
