Portofino's Italian Restaurant Eastway

Love this place! Never had a bad meal! The pizza is my favorite in Charlotte! Highly recommend! And Marro (?) always makes me laugh! The only thing better than take away is dining here with friends and family.

I’ve visited during lunch and enjoyed my experience, so decided to come back for dinner. Not a good experience at all. Ordered a glass of wine and the shrimp fra diavolo. As a native of coastal NC, I am very familiar with fresh vs. unfresh seafood. The clams served in my pasta were not fresh. The shrimp and the pasta itself—tasty. When the server came to check on me, I let her know that the clams were not fresh but the shrimp and the rest of the dish was fine. I was willing to enjoy the dish I was served and remove the clams from my plate, but the server returned and let me know that the manager on duty was willing to remake the dish but not discount it. Being that the dish would be remade with the same unfresh clams, I requested shrimp only. My dish served in an oval shaped platter with about 6-8 shrimp returned in a circular platter with 4 shrimp.

When I received my check, I was charged 26.95 for a dish that was listed as $21.95 on the menu. When consulting with my server, she let me know that it was because I “ordered a different dish”.

This will be my last visit to portofinos.

To tell ya truth it wasn’t worth the price, was alot in portions but not that tasty. I would try the one on kings drive

What a great little place for this Philly native! Cute restaurant with casual dining room but takeout available too. Order at the counter, sit down with your number and your food is brought to you. I passed this on the street and was intrigued so came in for a cheesesteak. It was cooked perfectly (watch that first bite! Burned my mouth!), bread was fresh and the lettuce was crispy! The chips that come with are a nice touch but aren’t anything special, plain potato chips. The pizza looks good so may be back to try before leaving town!

Cute place, server was nice but the food was not good. The meat and cheese plate was provolone, prosciutto, a spoonful of blue cheese crumbles and dry mozzarella with oil all over it. It didn’t come with any bread or crackers to put the meat and cheese on. We didn’t eat more than one bite of it. Pretty sure it was mozzarella all over the Caesar salad and the mussels were full of sand/grit and now the next morning I have symptoms of food poisoning. I wish I would have complained while we were there, but I hate doing that so we just paid and left.

L.O.V.E. this place!! We have NEVER had a bad meal or been disappointed. We believe it is solely because of the old school owner who does NOT accept poor service and who only delivers food to his standards and quality. Always consistent and delicious. ??

Not to welcoming seems like you kind of I'm welcome and last year regular gas I'm assuming the food was okay for the price.
