So Monarch Market opened its doors in Uptown Charlotte today. I was so excited for Portofino's, but learned earlier this week they will not be coming until Spring 2024. I'm good with that. So I decide to pop in and see what all the goings ons is about. It was a packed, but organized madhouse. Rolled AF Modern Mexican is a top-tier Mexican restaurant that offers a wide variety of dishes. Their crunchwraps are delicious, and their meats are seasoned exceptionally well. The birria taquitos are a standout option, and the queso is also solid. The restaurant now offers shrimp taquitos, which are a must-try. The staff is friendly and pleasant, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The Mexican Street Corn is also a popular option, although it may not survive the ride home. The restaurant offers a variety of options, including Pablano Crema, which can be requested on the side. The guac is fresh and delicious, and the chicken is flavorful and fresh. The woman at the counter was very helpful and the overall service was fast. The burrito bowl contains rice, chicken, cheese, lettuce, and a little pico, and it was really good. The crunchwrap was a little different than expected, it was fairly soft and tasted more like a toasted burrito with a large amount of cheese. The size of the crunchwrap was HUGE and the ground beef had a good bit of flavor. The side of queso is pretty big and definitely shareable. The whole paper bag of chips is a plus. Overall, Rolled AF Modern Mexican is a great choice for a delicious and satisfying meal.
