Saku Yakitori & Sushi Bar

The food was absolutely amazing and the prices were decent! We celebrated my son's birthday after dinner upstairs in the lounge. The music was great!

Nirvana roll and green dragon was amazing. Get a 2nd floor table and the staff is nice and helpful and the food came out quickly.

Everything was wonderful I started with the spicy margarita & it was actually spicy, loved it! Ordered the waygu and cooked it on the hot plate. It was 100/10. I also got the lamb chops which were amazing, loved the two sauces that came with it. Got the yellow fish crudo and it was one of my favorite things of the night. The heaven on earth sushi roll was incredible, I could eat that every day! Finished the meal w the fries, which made for the perfect ending to our dining experience. Can't wait to come back!

Saku is hands-down my favorite sushi spot in Charlotte. The food is always incredibly fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The ambiance is welcoming and beautiful, and the staff is consistently friendly and attentive. It's the perfect place whether you're dining solo, out with your partner, or grabbing dinner with a group of friends. It's also my go-to spot anytime I have out-of-town guests, everyone always loves it. Tonight, I sat at the bar and was served by Jeff and Kelly, both were absolutely wonderful. Can't recommend this place enough!

Had a date night with my wife this past weekend. The food was AMAZING. We ordered the Dumplings and the Crab Avocado Rolls as starters, and both of them were SUPER good. Then we had the Yakitori (skewers). The chicken and pork belly ones, were super tasty. The ribeye on the other hand, had a weird taste. We didn’t know what it was specifically, but we think it was the sauce; we left it on the plate. Then we had the sushi rolls. The Nirvana (creamy texture) and the Bushido (crunchy texture) were simply AMAZING! At the end, we had Matcha Ice Cream, and my wife had Wild berry Ice Cream (if I’m not mistaken). Both of them really good. Definitely a spot to visit.

The only reason I don’t give 5 stars regarding service, is because our waiter took a while to come to the table several times. We had to ask other waiters for water, sauces or any other inquiry.

Also, the atmosphere/environment is nice. For us, the problem was that the majority of the tables were really close to each other. So’ even to have a normal conversation, it felt like everyone around us could listen, haha. So’ that felt a bit weird. Still, we had a great time. We’ll definitely come back.

Good date night spot and great food

Ordered takeout from them on uber eats. The bento box was a tragic performance art piece titled “Regret in plastic.” I opened the soy sauce packet hoping for flavor but found only betrayal. Next up came the truffle edamame. I was met with a tragic oil spill in a bowl. Greasy, mushy, and somehow managed to be both overpowering and flavorless. A luxury ingredient held hostage. Never again.

The bone marrow was salty and barely had any meat for $18.00. The ribeye sticks wasn't all that great. The Nirvana & Heaven rolls were the best.

The ambience was much better than the food 🤷🏾‍♀️ I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants, and this sushi was mid to say the least. The garlic noodles tasted like everything except garlic and our dumplings and spring rolls look like they were fried in grease that needed to be changed because they came out extra dark, almost burnt looking and tasting. This was a place I have been wanting to go, but I will never be going back again

Food and service were phenomenal! Love the quaint outdoor seating. Such good people watching!

Just dropped by after a music show… ordered one bourbon and a small plate calamari… the calamari was over fried, the wait person removed it and I went on to enjoy fish cheek, a separate order.
The bill came… I was charged for the returned calamari, additionally, there was a 20 dollar charge for the bourbon…
This was all outrageous and the wait person stood firmly: I had to pay for what I ordered , and about the bourbon… there was a cocktail charge.
Omg! It has taken me 4 days to write about this horrendous experience.
I did not ask for a manager… why would I?
Clearly the employee has been “ trained” as to how to undermine and scam a patron.
So, I am advising you not to support this “ business “… skip it! There are many fine and non unscrupulous restaurants in the uptown charlotte neighborhood.
Please, do not patronize this establishment!!

It is so beautiful and comfortable the entire staff was so nice. we will definitely be original customers for now on.

TERRIBLE experience. The bartender was extremely unattentive only paid attention to half of the bar I l got up and left

My experience here was very disappointing, the bar tender completely ignored me from the time I was seated, he only focused on one side of the bar which I honestly have never seen before. I was only acknowledged when I actually began grabbing my things just 30 minutes after I sat down. I don't see how this place has such high reviews if things like this are happening in 2025🙄

Loved this place. Food and service were excellent!
