3/13/2020 Pre-CovidGreat location but the menu is quite limited and the food was not good. The staff was very pleasant and friendly, the place was clean and comfortable. The presentation of the food was really well done, see pictures, but unfortunately the very limited menu and unremarkable tasting food will prevent us from returning.

First impressions are everything right? As I walked towards the door with my baby in one arm and an umbrella in the other...the door opened up with a warm welcome! My husband and I had our first real dinner out with our 8 month old daughter and we had such a great experience. Our waitress was very attentive, the host/managers/owners (not sure!) were super friendly, and our food was delicious! The food was some of the best Italian we have had in Charlotte. We split 2 pasta dishes and an entree, which they split on separate plates in the kitchen. Nice touch! We had the Risotto alla milanese and the Paccheri pasta dishes (highly recommend the risotto!!) and the Branzino sea bass entree which was cooked to perfection! The seabass had an awesome crisp to the skin but inside was nice and tender. We went early on a week night, so there was no wait. We loved the ambiance, which was very classy without being too fancy. The high chair we were given was clean, which is very nice, especially these days! We will certainly be back with friends and family!

First time here tonight and it was amazing. Service was top notch from start to finish. The owner checked in on us 2-3 times during the evening to make sure we were good. The gnocchi was the best I have ever had. Wonderful evening overall with delicious authentic Italian food and wine. Cant beat that. I highly recommend Sensi.

Had dinner with friends and it was disappointing. Of the 3 main dishes we requested, they were not available and the remaining options were barely edible. Plus, it took forever for our dishes to be prepared. Very, very disappointing.

Look here folks. I heard a lot of opinions about Sensi and read every Yelp review and every other review. Expectations are everything. This is not an Italian restaurant as you are thinking about it. It is a very European culinary experience centered around Italian food. You won't get a bottomless bowl of pasta or unlimited breadsticks. You will get attentive service, knowledgeable wait staff and a unique dining experience and a nice Italian wine list, among others.

I thought the food was good but not worth the price. The portions were Alittle small although the ambiance was modern and the service was prompt.

When you order pasta it will be al dente. That's how they want it. Enjoy it. It's different. The cacio y pepe was phenomenal. Super cheesy. Loved it and the buffalo mozzerella salad as a first course. My wife got the risotto and that was phenomenal. The desserts, outstanding. The lemon cake was so light and beautifully prepared. The cannoli tacos incredible and just enough. I really wanted to get the steak for the 3rd course but it was our Valentines day and it was time to head home. Next time for sure.

I love this restaurant. After having lived in Italy for 2 1/2 years, it is pretty hard to find "authentic" Italian food in the Charlotte area. Sensi is one of the few places in Charlotte. The chefs hail from Rome and Naples, and are Michelin starred -- and it shows. The food is beautifully plated and delicious. The atmosphere is upscale, yet not overdone, and the staff is friendly. My husband and I have celebrated both of our birthdays here and we brought our 16 year old daughter tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day. This has become our go-to spot. We look forward to the next time.

Our first experience at Sensi was Valentine's Day. We were not disappointed. Our server, Rebecca was a joy! She visited our table numerous times as did other staff member . We were made to feel very special. The food was wonderful as well. Everything was cooked exactly as it should be. We enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning.

I took my beautiful wife out to dinner on Thursday night as a surprise night out and we had a fabulous time. She had the black cod and she loved it. I had the sea bass and it was so good. The presentation of both dishes were so awe inspiring with detail. We have not experienced this type of authentic Italian food in this area in the time we have been here. The added bonus of the evening (which we were not aware of) was that they have 1/2 price bottles of wine every Thirsday which we took full advantage of. I would recommend Sensi to anyone who is looking to enjoy a full experience of Italian authentic fine dining.

I've never walked out of a restaurant before. I made our reservation well ahead of time. We were a party of six, arrived in time, and they proceeded to seat us at a table set for five. They then pulled a chair over and seated one of my friends at the end of the table, directly in front of the kitchen door. We asked to please be moved to another table, and it became a production. The manager told us they'd move us downstairs to another table in 'just a few minutes'. We were offered water, and then the staff essentially ghosted us. After nearly 45 minutes of waiting, we were not asked if we wanted drinks or anything. I wonder if they realized we left. Went across the street to Via Roma and had an amazing dinner and excellent service. I would never recommend Sensi to anyone after this experience.

This was our first time eating at Sensi. Our first impression when we walked in was the space was beautiful. Must be thousands of wine bottles over head that create artistic lighting. We chose Sensi during restaurant week in order to give it a try. We started with bottle of Rossi di Montalcino. It really needed to open up so our server Camille, quickly got us a decanter. Really helped. For the first course my wife had the mozzarella and tomato salad. It had some delicious pesto drizzled on top. The dish was fresh and delicious. I had the pizza fritta with porchetta. Very nice. For the second course, they were out of my first choice for the lamb ragu, so I went with the braised beef. Delicate and delicious. My wife had the Cacio e Pepe. This was the best we’ve had outside of Rome. For desert my wife ordered the panacotta and I went for the chocolate torte. Unfortunately, the panacotta was frozen, so we switched for the tiramisu. What a lucky change. The tiramisu was amazing. Overall, the restaurant was new, clean and well designed. The service was very good. They food was very good, where two dishes were amazing! We’ll definitely return.
