Had a great meal here thanks to Eva- she was so knowledgeable about the menu, polite, and made sure we were taken care of. Shocked she got a bad review- maybe that person was just having a bad day! Will definitely be back and hopefully she'll be our server again!
The local cheeses and pickle accompaniment are excellent and would reorder again. The grilled chicken I asked for pairing with the Hoppin John was superbly cooked. My husband had the shrimp and clams with gumbo-soaked rice and that was also very good. It seems that some of the local suppliers may no longer be in business: one of the reasons we went to Stoke was because of this. It's not obvious if new local suppliers are used as the menus must be printed in the 1000's...
We enjoyed the food, cocktails and wine. The series's very slow. I felt the server forgot us. She never asked if we needed anything or if everything was okay. That dampened the experience and I will go elsewhere where we feel welcomed.
