This was a great place, especially their bingo which was so funny and a blast. Their big o orange ipa is amazing.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Employees are so friendly. The Hi Creek Fruit Punch Sour is so good and I really enjoyed the Caprese Panini. Will definitely be visiting again.
Apologies to Juan as this review is a couple years late, but my wife and I hosted our wedding reception here and had a wonderful time. The space was great and everything went smoothly.
Beer and food was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and welcoming!
Shoutout to Joe
Tuesday is Mug Day—bring your own mug (any size, so bring a big one to get more bang for your buck!) and they’ll fill it with any beer on tap for $6!
There’s free street parking or a pay lot in front of the brewery. If you park in the pay lot, (before you pay on the app) go inside and see the bartender and they either provide a promo code or a parking pass you put on your dashboard to validate your parking.
Good food and beers. Great staff.
Sugar Creek has some of the best beers in the city of Charlotte! We go here every other week and I am never disappointed. Their food is delicious, the beer is crisp and clean, and their service is impeccable!
The last time we went, we got a nice tour of the brewery, thanks to Joe Sr. We also had the chance to talk with their Master Brewer and he is an absolute genius and a master of his craft!
If you are looking for a good brewery with some HIGH quality beer, definitely give them a shot. I’ve been to all the breweries in the area and this place is the best at what they do by a massive margin!
Beers I suggest:
- Big-O: you can never go wrong with this one! It’s refreshing, tasty, and overall just wonderful.
-Culture Pilsner: this is your everyday go-to for a traditional flavor.
-Harriot’s Ginger Ale: this comes in a can, unfortunately cannot be kegged according to the owners, but try a sample and maybe grab a 4-pack on your way out because I’ve never had a beer that tastes like this. Solid ginger flavor with a slightly sweeter flavor and you will be AMAZED!
-Raspberry White Ale: you think summer, I think Raspberry White. There’s nothing more summer than this one!
-The Big Chill: they haven’t had this one in their taps for a while now for some reason, but if it does show back up, get it! This is the first beer that was truly chilling on the way down!
-Belgian Quad: if you haven’t had a Belgian Double, Trippel, or Quad, you are missing out. The quad, to me personally, is a STRONG beer, but if you like the flavor profile of these Belgian varieties, give the quad a shot. If you see the trippel, most definitely get it!
Food I suggest:
-panini and pint: doesn’t matter what the panini is, just get it! Their paninis are incredible!
-Donner Kebab: I will say that this is ever so slightly on the saltier side, but the spice in the Dönner Kebab is delicious!
-Pretzels: incredibly soft and their mustard was loved by my wife, someone who hates mustard!
This establishment is locally owned and authentic. All of their beers are so clean and well thought out. The owners and workers are very friendly and welcoming. This is a staple of our community in South Charlotte. As a native North Carolinian and a long time Charlottean (Go 49ers!), I would recommend this brewery. 10/10.
Absolutely love this place! It has great food, Panini specials every day and really good beer! Maria was our server and she was so proactive in fixing a tiny little mistake. It made me appreciate the cooks and servers are really well trained for customer service.
There are a lot of restaurants we go to where the service is just meh, we will definitely be back to Sugar Creek where they go above and beyond.

Small local place but the vibes are good.
This brewery is one of Charlotte’s best kept secrets. The biggest plus is the wide variety of beers and the quality of the brewing. Their medals for best brews are hanging all over the walls and by far they were the most enjoyable I have personally enjoyed in this region to date! I got a flight and had a very tasty blood orange IPA called the Big O, a “Boozy Berry” frozen concoction that was amazing, a coffee porter with a lower alcohol content that made it more to my liking and truly lived up to the genre, and a ginger beer so good I took two 4 packs home! I will be going back soon to try several other brews I just couldn’t work in this time. And to top it all off, the “Thermal Nuclear” chicken panini sandwich with jalapeño peppers and various sauces was absolutely delicious and a perfect pairing with my flight! In addition, the service was impeccable. The beer tenders were friendly, courteous and very responsive! I can’t wait to go back!
We visited 6/30/25. We’re travelers and we like to visit breweries everywhere we go, and I’m deep into the Craft beer scene overall.
The location is fantastic. Both in terms of brewery hopping access and ambiance. It’s a nice place and gives the craft brewery vibes nicely. Love the decor/design but totally confused how it matches the name (nautical steampunk?).
The beer is above average. Had the Big O hazy, the dubbel, and the quad. All three very worth the purchase! Especially the two Belgians, as you don’t see that very often.
The bartender/server was running solo but she was extremely engaged and attentive. Top notch.
Food: this was disappointing. We chose to save our eating on the brewery hop for this location. Unfortunately we did arrive late (8:30), but figured that would work because the kitchen was going to be open until 9. The chef was very nonplussed that we wanted to order food. He made that VERY VERY CLEAR. While the food came out fast, it was as if he literally asked a contestant from Nickelodeon’s double dare to make it as fast as possible. At the very least, don’t order the nachos. It was a mess with little other than poorly coated generic cheap chips.
Good drinks, good food. Excellent atmosphere!
Beer was excellent! Atmosphere was welcoming. Inside and outside seating with games. Bartender girls were informative and friendly. Fast service. Interesting menu options. Donor was very flavorful. Would recommend
