I called to place a takeout order and was informed that my original request (Chow Mein) was unavailable. I understood and selected an alternate dish, and requested another dish which also turned out to be unavailable. At that point, I politely let the staff member know I would need to cancel the order since they didn’t have what I was looking for. I apologized profusely for the inconvenience. Before I could even finish my sentence, the call was abruptly ended. The man on the phone was noticeably rude throughout the interaction before hanging up.

I’ve been a loyal customer for years, frequently dining in and even recommending the restaurant to friends and family based on my past positive experiences dining indoors. Unfortunately, after today’s interaction, I no longer feel comfortable supporting this business. It’s incredibly disappointing to be treated with such disregard. I encourage others to spend their time and money at establishments where kindness and appreciation for customers are a priority.

Had 2 meals for takeout recently. General tso chicken which was very good and then vegetable lo mein which was tasteless and somehow the noodles were dry.
General Tso - Recommend. Tasted good. Veggies tasted fresh. Not much spice. 4/5
Vegetable Lo Mein - Would not recommend. It was equivalent to eating the freshest rice cake possible. Bland but not bad quality. I feel like I definitely overpaid for this one. 2/5

10/10! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The food tasted so fresh. I’ve been to China and the decor and ambience reminded me of my time in China. I loved the portion sizes to do family style so we tasted 4 dishes. The Mongolian beef was some of the best my family and I tasted! The fried onions and pepper on the bottom of the salt and pepper shrimp was delicious. The fried rice wasn’t too oily and the fish was nice and tender. We got the fish steamed and didn’t feel weighted down. Everything was amazing and fresh!

If your looking to try something new, Wan Fu is the place to be! The food is great and so is the atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

I’ll admit it…Wan Fu caught my eye before I even knew what was on the menu. That pagoda-style roof and bold red front doors flanked by lion statues had me pulling into the parking lot on pure vibe alone. The place just looks like it’s got stories to tell.

Chef Chan has been serving Chinese food in Charlotte since 1989, and stepping inside Wan Fu feels like entering a time capsule. It’s lined with red leather booths, carved wood partitions, glowing amber lanterns, and a massive golden dragon mural that practically breathes fire from the wall. It’s got that classic, cozy feel without trying too hard. Think vintage elegance with a side of soy sauce.

I came with a craving for Beef Chow Fun and it absolutely delivered. The portion was massive, like “leftovers for tomorrow” big. Thin flat rice noodles stir fried with tender slices of beef, sweet onions, crunchy bean sprouts, snow peas, and scallions. It was savory, chewy, and exactly the comfort food fix I needed.

To start, I kept it classic with a vegetable spring roll. It came out fresh from the fryer, golden and crisp, and paired with duck sauce and spicy mustard for that nostalgic Chinese takeout flavor. Inside was your usual cabbage and carrot filling, nothing fancy but perfectly executed.

The wonton soup was next. The broth was clear, light, and flavorful. Salty, but not the salt bomb you get at some spots. The wontons were delicate and filled with pork, and they didn’t skimp on them either. A solid option if you’re easing into the meal.

Service was friendly and warm. The kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit.

Eat here! We had the fortune of stopping here for dinner while passing through Charlotte, and this is some of the best Chinese food I've eaten! We tried the chicken wonton soup (my friend said the best wonton they've ever had), seafood soup, crab rangoons (my friend said the best he's ever had), shrimp lo mein (my favorite), crispy tofu, sesame chicken (nice and moist), and moo shu pork. Everything was so fresh and tasty! Nothing was dry. The atmosphere is very charming, as is the service. We certainly had leftovers and were fighting over them.

Wan Fu offers pretty good Chinese food in South Charlotte. The menu is large and offers proteins such as beef, chicken or pork prepared various ways. It’s not too complicated and, while the food was good, it wasn’t over the top great.

We ordered a bunch of things on the menu to get the full cross section. Fried Crab Rangoons, Pot Stickers, Mushu Pork, Mongolian Beef, Cashew Chicken, MaPo Tofu and Whole Fried Fish. The Mushu, Whole Fried Fish and MaPo Tofu were the best things we ordered. The others were fine.

The service was good and the staff is nice. Wan Fu can be crowded at peak times and forget about Xmas eve. You’ll need a reservation for sure on 12/24. Parking is easy with a large parking lot but making a left onto 51 is maddening.

Be careful of possible stealing from your expenses there and they are very arrogant.
In 2023 Dec, I took my in-laws family out for lunch. We spent $120 on our brand-new $500 gift card. The gift card was brought to the back and given back but that afternoon, someone used up the rest of the amount for $380 out at Home Depot for two transactions when I called back to the restaurant. The manager Richard mocked me stating that he knew the chief police and implying that I was just someone trying to ask for money.
Are they stealing money by taking a picture of the gift card? I am not 100% sure but the gift card has never left my mom's wallet since and expenses were so close apart on the same day.

We always take the drive to Wan Fu when we visit Charlotte. Everything is obviously fresh and never too greasy/oily so you don’t feel terrible after eating here (although we always over eat). Portions are large!

We actually felt that this place was a little overhyped as the service was average at best and the food was actually just kind of "eh" to mediocre, which was a disappointment given the premium price points and smaller serving sizes. We both got General Tso's Chicken with Beef Skewers as our appetizer and the portion sizes of the General Tso's did not match the price point, while the Beef Skewers lacked flavor as they appeared to be a bit overcooked. On the plus side, to be fair, the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and well decorated, but I will take great food at a solid value with fantastic service vs a restaurant interior that could be featured on HGTV. Obviously this place has a ton of fans, but we just don't get it as it was mediocre at best in our opinion.

Very racist as soon as I entered and the proportions were very small for the price and I ended up paying over 75$ for 4 meals and there was hair in my food outrageous!!!
