The fish was very fresh and cooked beautifully (best salmon I've ever made!). It felt good to support a local business and receive a high quality product.

I came to Charlotte from Va and googled “black owned seafood spot” West End comes up in the choices! From the moment my husband and I walked in until we left it was exceptional customer service and hospitality! The owner was very knowledgeable on the different fish and was so happy to assist us! Now onto the food…. 10/10 it was delicious! Whitings, croaker, king makeral, okra etc! It was all phenomenal! Stop by West End Seafood you will not be disappointed ! We will be back

I came here with family and friends who heard that WES had great food. I had no expectations only because I didn't know anything about the restaurant. However, I was excited to see the high reviews on social media. I was very impressed when we arrived. Parking was no issue (we came on a weekday afternoon), and the store was very very clean inside and the staff was super friendly! Everyone was polite and helpful, and they were patient with us as we decided what to order. I ordered a catfish combo. This wasn't exactly on the menu but the owner and staff were very accommodating. The others in my group ordered catfish dinners. The combo came with shrimp and a drink, which was great because I was able to split my meal with hubby. They weighed the catfish to determine the price and gave us an estimated wait time. They have several chairs in the waiting area and we were comfortable as our food was being prepared. There's also plenty of seating outside. I felt the prices are reasonable .. for my combo and a dinner I paid about $30. The food was seasoned to perfection! Very tasty and flavorful. My only issue is that the steam in the clamshell made the breading on the fish and shrimp less crispy. That's no fault of the ones who prepared the food, but a reason I tend to eat fried food in the car opposed to driving it home. I do believe it was crispy initially, but catfish is soft in general and the steam didn't help. I'd definitely return for another catfish meal. You can also order from the hot bar - they had beans, cabbage and other veggies that all looked delicious.
