Me and my husband come here sometimes. The food is pretty good, I've never had a bad time or experience. They are a little slow and the service is bad but that adds to the lore me and my husband have for this place. we didn't even know the name cause we just called it "bad service" If you don't mind mediocre service for amazing food. Come here.

My friend and I decided to meet up after work for a bite to eat and some drinks, so we chose Zapatas, a Mexican restaurant not far from my office in the university area. We arrived around 4 PM, and since it wasn't too busy, we were seated quickly. The service was great from the start. They started us off with a variety of dips and tortilla chips which was a nice touch. I opted for beef tacos and sangria, while my friend went for beer along with the combination meal, which included burritos, refried beans and rice. The tacos were delicious, perfectly seasoned, and paired well with the drinks. It was the ideal start to our Friday night, with great company and great drinks. Would I come back? Absolutely. Zapatas offers a fantastic experience with great service and flavorful food, making it a definite go-to spot in the area.

Was in town for a conference and decided to walk here. Cute authentic Mexican spot with large portions. The drinks could have been a little stronger but overall I had a pleasurable time and definetly enjoyed my food and service.

I used to be a fan of this place, but the service has gone down dramatically. My favorite meal was the chicken street tacos with refried beans - it's usually delicious. I've given Zapata's a lot of my money, which is why I was surprised and disappointed when I called them tonight to tell them that they failed to give us the beans & rice for one of our entrees (which has happened more than once on take out orders); and that one of the orders of street tacos was dry/overcooked. It was a carryout order, so we were not going all the way back over there to return it. But when I called and asked for a credit, the "manager" literally asked me if I was going to bring the food back tonight or tomorrow? I laughed and said are you serious? You expect me to bring the food back?? He said yes, I need to show it to my boss. I've never heard of such ridiculousness in my entire life. I would've expected him to offer to make it right, but he did not take responsibility, apologize or offer any concessions. They've raised their prices, but the quality has gone down. The food, service and the decor inside all need a refresh. I would NOT recommend this University location. Extremely disappointing.

It is a place that is next to a lake, it has a beautiful view where people can walk after a delicious meal, the waiter was very kind to us, the food, not to mention everything, was very delicious ?
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The salsa is fresh & the best! I usually order #3 lunch which is $9 as of Feb. 28, 2024. Generous portions, tasty, I opt for more rice instead of beans, chicken enchilada & tamal. Many menu items to choose from, excellent service from our server!

I took my granddaughter here today for her birthday and I'll tell you. We were both very impressed with the service from Danielle. We were both impressed with the food which was very good and tasty. I asked them if they would sing to her for her birthday. Not only did they sing with the hat, but Mexican hat, but they also gave her a nice dessert. It was so much fun and I didn't feel my very best in my health, my but just the fact that I was in that atmosphere and the service made it all so nice. I encourage anyone to give them a try.Lady C

Went on a Friday night in which I got the pineapple margarita 8/10 and house raspberry margarita10/10. For our appetizer we got the house made guacamole which was delicious with the chips and salsa. Our entrees were the chicken quesadilla and the chicken enchiladas very good. The only thing I didn’t like was I got charged $2.50 for a side of sour cream. Overall great food and a nice view.
