Last minute stop on a road trip so didn’t know what to expect… What a GREAT decision this was. Folks, trust me ~ the food was spectacular, the service was fantastic, and the down home feel was something you rarely find today. We LOVE this place. I’ll drive 2 hours out of my way now just for a quick meal. Doesn’t matter what you order ~ it’s all delicious!
This place is the TRUE Heart of Haywood County! There may be parts of the county that are in turmoil (or just downright rude and awful), but this place is a true sanctuary from them all! In addition to the best home cooking available in WNC, they serve love at no extra cost. Anyone who trolls this place does not deserve the good that comes from here. May the Peace of the Lord be with you ALL!
I have known the Pioneer’s hospitality for many, many years. Growing up in Haywood County, there were only a handful (or less) restaurants that made their food from scratch and it was served with the friendliness only family can provide. Today, I can reminisce those memories at the Pioneer Restaurant, which has steadily supplied the same small town characteristics over decades.
