Stopped in on my way to hike nearby trails on campus and grabbed a cup of drip brew to go (which was delightful coffee), a blueberry muffin (tasty, classic, fluffy and delicious). There's a case on the counter with several simple pastries like this and they all looked lovely. I also saw that they served Counter Culture coffee, which I love and which is a NC local brew, so I grabbed a bag of that (whole beans) to go as well. I love this coffee shop. It's the perfect place to get away from school and get studying done, or hang out with friends. I have been coming to Hillside for the 4 years I've been at WCU and it's always been the perfect place to come for coffee. It's also dog-friendly!

I went there to do some homework, its a great atmosphere no yelling just people lightly enjoying themselves playing 8 ball pool or having discussions. There was a prayer board which was interesting, I guess it may be more of a community than just a coffee place.
