Their coffee is amazing, I go here to order a bag of beans and get a drip brew whole i wait. Warning though is the place is very popular and can be quite busy at times.

I LOVE the chocolate habanero. The combinations I tried were all amazing. Simple menú and perfect for the amount of people they serve. Kind of a hipster place that welcomes everyone. I waited 40 minutes for my coffee TOTALLY WORHTY. Try ordering online if you are in a rush. Dont miss this coffee shop. Plenty of space to hang around.

Nice place but 45 minutes for a latte is a lot. Plan ahead if you’re on a time crunch!

I’ve been going to Bean Traders for a bit now and I love it! The coffee delicious, the food is very tasty, and the staff are always friendly. The vibe is cozy and there are a lot of places to sit and read or just enjoy your coffee. The bagel sandwich’s are my favorite bite to eat.

Starbucks is adding a location across the Bean Traders which is a slimy move. Support your local businesses!!!

UPDATE: Bean Traders is consistently the best coffee shop in south Durham. They’re even better than a lot of the other more popular coffee shops near downtown Durham. Always good vibes. Staff are friendly and considerate, even when they’re slammed. We drove by today (11/17) and see that the old Wendy’s in the same shopping center is being turned into a Starbucks. I’m disappointed but I understand some people like having a drive-through option for their coffee runs. I’m confident that the community will continue supporting Bean Traders and their superior products and service.

I love that they have some vegan options. The vegan waffle (with vegan butter of course) is so good! Samosas are not great. Coffee is top notch every time. I stop by at least once a week and sometimes work for a few hours. WiFi always works and typically not too loud depending on where you sit.

Met a colleague for a coffee meeting yesterday - was a horrible experience. Loud, obnoxious music and bad internet. Definitely got the feeling that they did not want people spending work time there. This was my fourth or fifth time at this location over the past several years and I have not had this bad experience before. Food and coffee were good; all people working were great!

The food, drinks, and staff are good but every time I come here I wait forever for a drink. Waited more than 30 minutes just to get a chai. I'd come here more often but I find the long wait for drinks too frustrating.

Coffee has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. In fact it all comes back to when I was at home and my mom made me a cup. Now I like to come here and think back on those times, and I think other people do too. Let's all keep moving forward and continue being best friends and going to Bean traders. It's a good place with calm relaxing vibes, only thing is that the people can be a little scary. It really brings in a young crowd and you know how those types can be. I just like to sit down at the store with my cup of coffee and pray that no one approaches me because young people are so scary. Thank you for your service to the community and making a friendly place for us to get coffee and chit chat with trusted friends. I hope we can continue being in business with you for a long long time to come

Walked in a good time didn’t have to wait long to order. Staff was friendly. There were plentiful coffee flavors & options. The bagels slapped. Overall atmosphere however was a bit odd.

Me and my family went here my sister got a cinnamon muffin and got a giant blob of baking soda and had to spit it out.
We also ordered three hot drinks it took 30 minutes for them to give them too us
It’s very busy and they are understaffed so I understand but I’m still reviewing that it’s just nothing personal
(Also most tables are full we got the last one)

I was recommended this place by a church member. I don’t recommend going during their busy hours unless you have 30-50 minutes of your time to wait. I ordered an $7-8 oatmeal bowl To go online around 10.10am. There was a line that went past the door as soon as you walk in. I waited in line for about 10 minutes then decided to ask about where to pick up to-go orders and was told two different things by two different staff which was a little annoying. When the staff looked up my order I was told my pick up time is 10:55 (it was about 10:25 at the time). I asked, 40 minutes for an oatmeal? She was polite enough and said she could start my order now. When she came back, she handed me a to-go coffee cup. I had a puzzled look and she explained that the oatmeal is inside with toppings. I opened the cup to see it was half filled with oatmeal and a sprinkle of raisins and walnuts and a small sauce cup of cream. Needless to say, very disappointing experience and it doesn’t seem worth the money or time. I won’t return.

I give any place 5 stars if they sell frappes! Very nice staff. It was crazy busy on Sunday at 10 AM but the staff were super friendly and quick.
