Best coffee in Durham. Big space with large seating area.
Excellent coffee and wonderful people, great selection of arabica beans and blends. Also, Dave pulls a mean shot of espresso 👌☕️

Dave is the best! He’s created a real community atmosphere. He knows everyone’s story and their coffee order, and if he’s there, the music is fabulous!
Vegetarian options: Blueberry scones are incredible! And there’s a cash cup for drip coffee when the line is out the door.

The espresso was very acid to the point of not being drinkable.

Funky coffee shop with lots of seating. They’ve got options for tea drinkers in addition to coffee

The best vegan/gluten-free waffles I have ever had. Plus, my decaf oat milk latte was good. Impressed with the food. There was a bit of wait on Sunday morning.

I had the Caramello drink - it was a sturdy coffee. Some sour notes, but it wasn't that overpowering. The other reviews are correct, the service can be a bit slow during peak hours, but the servers are trying their best. Not everything in life can happen at lightning speed. Would recommend.

I’ve been coming to bean traders for almost 8 years now. They are a staple to this area and literally the only coffee shop I know that is local and not charging $8 a coffee like other coffee businesses I’d consider their competitors. I highly recommend their chocolate habanero coffee if that’s your kinda thing.

Visited for a quick coffee on a wonderful Saturday. Waited an hour for one latte and iced mocha. Turned out the latte was actually a mocha and waited another 20 minute for remaking the latte. There was a long line(10+?), so kinda understandable. And it seemed the long wait was for everyone else there; maybe they don’t agree with me but I don’t think the coffee was worth the long wait. The beautiful Saturday was kinda wasted.

Good coffee but slow and disorganized. Only worth going if they're not busy. If there's a line may as well go somewhere else. Last time I went lost my ticket and gave me attitude about asking when mine would be ready, then made it awkward when I asked for a refund due to how long it took. Made no effort to make it right, no sorry we lost your order here's your coffee anyway which is what I'd do in their place. Waited 30 min for my friends coffee and then never got mine in the subsequent 15 min afterwards. Was my last time going there which is a shame because the coffee is actually solid.
