Given that people use this as a space to work, I wish that the ambience were nicer. It has boarded-up windows, hideous colors, an awkward layout, uncomfortable seating, and cheap mismatched decor. You wouldn't want to bring a date here either. More power outlets would also be helpful.

The food and drinks are good but expensive ($5 for a bowl of granola). For these prices I expect better vibes.

Great coffee; but they definitely need to add more savory food options. Service is always excellent. However, the wifi is spotty, so if you're going there to work, be aware that they need to add more bandwidth, especially when there are several people working on their laptops.
Music is often too loud. Could also use more tables in front room. Miss the big, round one they used to have there.

Was in the area for the Apple Store and dropped by twice in a week. A big store front with lots of seating. Pretty welcoming to people with laptops too!
Ordered a hot chocolate coffee first time - it was great! You can taste the drip coffee and the actual chocolate which comes through with more than just sweetness. The chocolate milk was foamy and creamy. There was some chocolate shavings on top as well :)
For my second time, ordered the egg salad with crackers and an iced tea latte with chocolate strawberry tea - the crackers are more like pie scraps which are flaky and delicious! egg salad is very creamy as well :))

Please go here instead of the Starbucks they're opening across the parking lot.

Super nice coffee shop—lots of space with a very nice staff. And the coffee is amazing and isn’t expensive. I went when it was a little busy and my 2nd drink was taking a bit to make and one of the baristas offered to top off my cold brew while I was waiting—which was really nice of him (thank you so much if you’re reading this! lol).

Can’t recommend this place enough!

Haven't been here in a while. Love this place but the recent decore change is not it.

While it's not my style of art the quirky, abstract & colorful walls gave this place a unique feel that is now missing imo.

Hopefully there will be some more additions to the decor, specifically the walls. The randomized abstract is what i feel should be the theme here

I would also like to know who did the epoxy job so i know who not to call in the future.

I’ve been here about 5 times - I love the location, coffee, and the vibes. However, there’s always a long wait time to receive my order. I understand that this is a popular coffee spot in the area, but you would think they would be more efficient with the volume of orders they get. It’s always about a 15 to 20 minute wait.

Bean Traders is our go-to coffee shop in South Durham. The cold brew and cappuccinos are just fantastic. Great friendly service and delicious coffee and scones!

A Durham institution. Better than the big chains. Get an iced chocolate coffee and one of their amazing baked goods. Very family-friendly, a great spot for runners coming off the American Tobacco Trail, lots of room for reading or working. The line can be long on weekends, but it’s so worth it to support local business owners, and the experience is so much better. Very friendly staff, and the owner is working the line with everyone else.

Had a vegan hot chocolate and pumpkin chocolate muffin. They warmed up the muffin (and offered vegan butter which I declined but somewhat regret) and both were great. I’m not a regular coffee shop goer, but their menu seemed quite large. I do wish they had more vegan baked goods but it seemed to be pretty busy so maybe they had all sold out by the time I got there. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-31
