I was quite disappointed with this place. It was extremely noisy, hardly any seating available, and their drinks were so-so. Didn’t taste good to me. I was standing in line when I noticed one of their baristas just gave me an odd look. Just wasn’t a welcoming look. Felt racially motivated as I noticed most of their workers and customers are white. I will not be returning.

I was new to the area a year ago and set out to find the best coffee shop in Durham. I had Bean Traders early on and kept trying other ones and nothing else was close! Whether it’s plain coffee, a latte, or any of there delicious food items they’re the best around.It usually is pretty busy (because who wouldn’t want to be there!?) so be sure to allow plenty of time if you’re planning on hanging out there.

i have always wanted to try this place since i moved to durham over 2 years ago, and i’m so glad i gave it a try today! the workers are lovely, the atmosphere is so wonderful and kind, and the decor is so colorful! i can also say with confidence that they have one of the best iced americanos i’ve tried. i really enjoyed my chocolate croissant as well. such a cute spot to come and enjoy a pick-me-up. :-) thanks for adding some well-needed caffeine and positivity to my day!
Time again, me and my friends seem to return to Bean Traders. The freshness of the roast, the food and the chilled atmosphere make it the least pretentious and best value coffee shops in the area.

This coffee shop has very good coffee and the scones that I have purchased has been yummy. However, I am unclear as to why the person taking your order cannot just hand you the scone if you don’t want anything done to it, it would alleviate you having to spend extra time waiting for someone to fulfill other orders just to give you what you want.. I went in this morning and ordered coffee and a scone. The young lady at the register told me that she could not just hand me the scone because she had a lot going on. I would have to wait for the other young lady that was prepping food… honestly, if the person taking the order could assist instead of everyone standing around, waiting for orders to go especially if you do not want it baked,toasted or heated up. This establishment is very popular and always crowded. I am sure they will not miss me no longer going there. This may be something management would like to start implementing

Always a pleasure visiting this coffee shop. They have friendly staff, make quality coffee and have delicious pastries. The only con is everyone likes them too and sometimes the line is a bit long. I would highly recommend ordering online if you'd prefer not to wait!A great place to work/study.
