My dad used to take us as kids to this Captain D's when we lived in Durham (2000s). He moved to Graham, NC two years ago but he still travels to this restaurant at least once a month. Today, he invited my siblings and I to join him. This time we did not use one table like the old days, we needed three because we each have children of our own! Visited drive thru tonight. Ordered grilled shrimp and whitefish. While those items and the vegetables tasted good, when I got home, I had not received the requested tartar sauce and the dinner roll was missing. Very disappointed. At 8:00 pm the restaurant was not busy and several of the staff were sitting around. Not worth the drive from south Durham.
I was denied service by the manager/owner because I was not wearing a mask. I explained that I was medically exempt but that didn’t matter. I explained my truck was too tall to use drive thru and inside order was my only option. I’ve bee going to this restaurant since it was built, long before he gad anything to do with it.
