This place has been here since before I was born [in the early 90s]. This is one of the places that had NOT gone out of business like several others in this shopping center. The food has ALWAYS been delicious and there’s plenty of choices to choose from. It also helps a ton that the staff is always so friendly. You won’t regret it.

Best take out! We love the food and have been ordering from here for more than ten years- cashew chicken is my FAVORITE! The egg drop soup is beyond yummy. Fast and great food

"Szechuan and other Chinese food on Guess Rd in Durham" Nestled in a strip shopping center with "Ollie's" and Italian Pizzeria is this little gem. We came on a Saturday night with a group of 5. The restaurant is fairly brightly lit and welcoming. There were a few other customers, but not many. The menu had Chinese-American restaurant staples (e.g., sesame chicken and the like) as well as a few Szechuan dishes. I went for the spicy eggplant. We shared an order of crab rangoon, and others at m table ordered sesame tofu, a seafood hotpot, and a dish with shiitake mushrooms and baby bok choi. We were brought a pitcher of water for the table, which was nice so we had it as we needed it. Each dish came with a choice of white or fried rice. One nice thing I saw-- you had the choice of chicken fried rice, and the eggrolls (which we didn't order) were also chicken-- good for non-pork eaters. We liked our food overall. My spicy eggplant was absolutely delicious-- perfectly cooked japanese eggplant and seasoning. It was quite mild to my taste-- not really that spicy overall-- but I was looking for flavor over heat so I didn't mind. My son really liked his seafood hotpot-- it had surprisingly little liquid but a mountain of seafood (fake crab meat, fish balls, and more) and tofu in it. My daughter liked the sesame tofu-- I had a bite and it was fine. The crab rangoons were good/ pretty typical. The least popular (but still OK) dish was the mushroom & bok choi... it was oddly slimy and not wonderfully flavored, but again it was still OK. Don't think any of us will order that again in the future, but it was worth trying. The only negative was the pacing of the meal, though this was partly our fault. We didn't get our dishes at the same time, and the polite among us let their dishes get cold waiting for the other dishes to arrive. There was perhaps a 10-15 minute gap between the first and last dish arriving (and weirdly the appetizer came after the hotpot). This all would have not been a problem if we were eating "family style" with everyone sharing dishes as they arrived, but we instead ordered individual dishes, so this was less than ideal (again, partly our fault). Price was fair-- came to roughly $80 before tip. Given this fed 5 of us, and we had some leftovers to take home, that's pretty reasonable. Given Gourmet Kingdom in Carrboro is a bit of a hike for those of us in North Durham, this is a decent option for some Szechuan or other Chinese food in the area-- good chance we'll come back and try more on the menu.

Food was really good. Prices not to bad. Spicy isn't spicy. Had the Beef with Spicy Garlic sauce. Packed full of flavor, but not much kick or spice. The Gyoza ( Dumplings) were pretty good, not enough dipping suave. Had 2 egg rolls which were regular egg rolls. Pretty slow, and dirty tables. Service was fast though.

Best Chinese food I've had in a while. Food was ready in under 10 minutes. Ordered the sesame chicken and 2 eggrolls. Chicken was nice and crispy, perfectly sauced with fresh fregg rolls. Egg rolls were delicious as well. Will be back again if in the area. 10/10

The staff was amazing to the point I hate to say how terrible the food was, me and the wife got 2 different dishes one chicken and one beef both smothered with garlic to the point it was over powering and we both love garlic. The food had no balance and even the rice was poorly cooked. It pains me to say that this was the worst place I have eaten in my life.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the food that I ordered. I remember that I ordered my favorite House Egg Foo Young, fried rice, and House Special soup. I got my order to go. The bag was heavy, and I was thinking they give large portions. I immediately began eating my food when I first got to work. The Egg Foo Young included three large patties. They were nasty and some of the chicken was that was mixed in the patty was salty. It looked like they were made from the liquid egg mixture. Not even real eggs. I opened the fried rice, and I tasted it. It was soft (over cooked) and it smelled sour. I paid $24 for that meal, and I just threw it in the trash. It was so bad, that I wouldn't even offer it to my co-workers. I will never eat from there again.

I can only rate the food as it was delivered by grubhub, but it was WONDERFUL! We shared shrimp egg foo young, chicken egg roll, beef lo mien & desert. This is our new favorite restaurant for delivery. It was packaged well came hot.

Dragon inn is pretty much a Durham institution inside of a Croasdaile Mall of of Guess and Horton Rd. Their prices are pretty good for the amount that you get especially in this economy. I always get excellent, quick service and good food. The only thing it's missing is little atmosphere, but that's largely because it's baked into the bones of a place that has kept running for at least twenty five or thirty years. If you like to order your Chinese cuisine in, a all you have to do is call them and your mule be ready for you to pick up about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the crowd. Portions really stand out with pickup. All in all, it's a great little joint I've got a ton of fond memories about.Vegetarian options: Too many combos to count that could be stripped to just tons of vegetable optionsKid-friendliness: They do their best to have offering for kids that are a little pickier and young and may not want to try the food, but it's just okay. If your kid likes Chinese food though they're in for a treat.Parking: Since it uses all of the mall parking lot and none of that is too far from the main strip, there are plenty of places to park.

Had a bad delivery experience. Ordered twice cooked pork, got something like stir fried onions and cabbages plus only 4 pieces of cha shu (which you never expect in such a dish). It didn't taste good either while listed for almost 20 bucks.

Decent Chinese food restaurant. I ordered the twice cooked pork belly with leeks (which came with a bowl of rice) and the shredded pork and pickled radish noodle soup. The pork belly dish was actually quite tasty, the noodle soup was decent but the broth was a bit bland and the meat/noodle wasn’t really seasoned.

Great shopping plaza place to eat. Very good menu with many options to choose from. The inside is quaint with tables in front & to the side. Good atmosphere though pretty warm with kitchen other side of wall. Food very tasty. My fav is crab Rangoons with shin San which is chi ken pork lg shrimp & veggies . Can get spicy or not. Truly a savored dish & leftovers!!
