Visited “The Federal” 3/23 around 12 at night. Ordered wings and burgers and fries. Also ordered a drink, tea, beer. Drinks came immediately and tea was horrible. Food came 6 minutes later. Interesting…..did you cook my food that fast. My fiancé said “your burger not cooked “ the lightning in the restaurant made it look like my meat was ok. Actually burger was brown on outside and RAW on the inside DISGUSTING! Not to mention our server Drew tried to overcharge me for an extra drink and extra alcoholic beverage! Food horrible and service umm seems horrible too being that he tried to rip me off! Never AGAIN!!!!

The food was literally awful. Do not get the prime rib sandwich or Chicken sandwich taste just like pure garlic just nasty. We literally did not eat our Food the fries was OK with ketchup they definitely need a new cook

We had brunch and it was just a bit below OK. No cream products for coffee. Out of Eggs Benedict. Got steak and eggs and the steak tasted gamey. Eggs were nothing to write home about. Bathrooms had a clear for foot opening, but you still have to touch the lock, and with air dryers, there is no paper towel to use.

We had a great experience one night and then we went again to dine in, the waiter came out with our food in to-go boxes. The workers were having a grand time at the bar. Service was terrible, I had to get up and ask if someone could take our order. Won’t be back.

The Fed has some good specials and a great normal menu plus they stay open later than most in the area to get some tasty eats. Connie has some great recommendations and makes a solid old fashion. I had an awesome time and will be back in the future, for sure!

The customer service was terrible and discriminatory. The mixed/hispanic short waitress was visibly showing favoritism and different treatment towards black people. Here's how our experience was: After Me and my wife waited patiently for 25 minutes for the waitress to greet us, i was forced to go wait at the bar and place my food order there. The place was not at all busy. Once I placed the order at the bar I took my seat and watched 3 other black customer's enter with no greeting from her. Then as soon as a white couple entered, she was energetic, polite and eager to serve! My wife and I were shocked! In 2024..... the food was below average. Fries were cold, chicken sandwich was not at all satisfying. But that I could handle, but the blatant discrimination was disheartening. She needs to be reprimanded immediately before she continues to offend and disrespect others.

A neighborhood corner bar restaurant with amazing food and wonderful staff! My daughter put me on to this place. Ladies and Gentlemen! Without further ado, meet the best Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with special sauces in NC!! Hands down, one of the best in the world!! I can say that, too. LOL ??❤️
I'm still trying to get over my last visit. It was my birthday and we were heading to a concert. We hadn't been in years and I wanted to get back. The menu was filled with great options. I settled on the schnitzel sandwich. I was shocked by what they delivered. I never send food back (fearing a vengeful chef) but I really should have. Not only couldn't it cover the bun, it was paper thin (even for schnitzel) and just didn't taste great. The rest of the food was OK (not great) but this really ruined the meal. Hard to imagine that at least two people felt ok at serving that plate.

This place is the absolute best. The staff are super engaging and really personable. It's a cool older bar with excellent food that isn't bad food. Even the wings seem like something you'd eat at a ridiculously overpriced swanky restaurant.Go for the alcohol if you like. Go for the food if that's your draw. But go. The people are the best part.
Service was terrible. Food good. Party of 6, we waited 30 minutes before we were waited on. No napkins were offered.
