First time trying the Grub Durham. We came to for lunch and I was thrilled to see pancakes on the menu. Who doesn't like pancakes for lunch! Service was fairly quick with a small lunch crowd. I enjoyed the outside rooftop. Far as the food(3.5 stars), it was okay but nothing too special. I may have to come again and try one of the sandwiches on the menu.

I came in to the restaurant today with a large group of people (~20 people), and they were very friendly and accommodating. More importantly, one of the members in our group tasted a smoothie from a different group member and ended up having an allergic reaction to nuts (not to the fault of the restaurant staff in any way whatsoever). The staff was very responsive and helpful, and one of them was even a trained paramedic! Thanks to their fast and competent response, that group member was able to get proper care quickly and avoid any major medical complications. I am unfortunately from out of town, but when I’m back in Durham, Grub will be high up there on my list of places to visit.

Biscuit lacked salt in my opinion but wasn't dry which is a plus. Friendly service, order up front and find a table.

Starting off with a few things, the food was really good. I got an egg salad sandwich and Brunswick stew. The service was nice and quick, and the ambience was very chill. The one problem is the line went out the door and we waited for 15 minutes but other than that I like that place.

We had a great Saturday brunch at Grub; we arrived at 10:15 and there wasn't much of a line (it's an order at the counter place), plus we got there in time to score a couple cinnamon rolls (they are big enough for two!). We were generally really pleased with the food--my husband got the corned beef hash bowl, which was delicious, I got the breakfast platter with a pancake, and my MIL got the regular breakfast platter. All of the meats (corned beef, bacon, pork sausage) were outstanding, the cheese grits were super cheesy and buttery, and my MIL's biscuit was great. The pancake was fluffy and moist. I liked that they use coffee ice cubes in their iced coffee beverages. My MIL and husband thought the cinnamon rolls could have used more cinnamon, but I was happy with them--they were still warm, super buttery and tender. We're from out of town and will keep Grub on our list when we travel through again.

I enjoy coming to Grub for breakfast and recently went for lunch. Both are good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend trying their sweet potato fries, best bird biscuit, and pancakes!

Used to love going here for dinner, but the dinner hours of 5-7 are very awkward, because I don’t want to eat before 6, and I also don’t like to arrive at a restaurant within the last hour before closing. Nobody who’s ever worked in restaurants wants to see someone walking in during the last hour… I’ll miss this place.

Love this breakfast spot. All the food is great, reasonably priced & has lots of gf options! Coffee is great as well. Parking can be a little difficult but we always find some.

Seemed great at first. Cool atmosphere, fun menu, upbeat and efficient person who gave us instructions (order at register, sit anywhere). We tried inside but the music was thumping my brain. We moved outside within the wind blocking plastic but the music was still kinda loud and the tables were dirty. After someone "wiped " the table it was still very sticky. We tried outside and that was both cleaner and calmer. Then our food came and the over easy medium eggs had uncooked egg whites. Won't be back.

Vegetarian options: Good options other than a salad. Delicious too!
