India Gate Indian restaurant

I've been eating Indian food from restaurants for years. I'm picky! India Gate's food is excellent. When I visit friends near there, we often get their food. We like it so much that we chose them to prepare all the food for an upcoming big party that we will be hosting. I recommend them!

This is our new go-to favorite restaurant in the Durham Southpoint area. The welcome we received was genuine - the staff made us feel as if we were dining in their home. The food is excellent (some of the best Indian meals I have had, and I eat a good bit of Indian food). Plenty of vegetarian options. Perfectly spiced (medium is our preferred level), large portions, very well-priced, and they served it with care. The atmosphere is casual. The woman who served us appeared to be an owner, and told us that they had been in the Homestead Market shopping center (near Sprouts) for three years, after 12-years in RTP. We will be back again and again.

We (family, two children) have tried several Indian restaurants in this and other areas. Both kids have chosen this establishment (given full range of choices) for their birthday dinners for the last two years. Literally a mom- and- pop restaurant, we appreciate great food and service every time we come, which is at least once a month.

Came for the lunch. Huge portion and a variety of items. Very good!

My husband and I went for lunch and got the lunch specials. At $14 each, it was a tremendous value for the amount of food. I left completely stuffed. The food is delicious and the service was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.

I don't know much about Indian dishes but the lunch special had a little bit of everything and also has a vegetarian option. I expected a decent meal for the price and was surprised by how much better than simply decent it was. I'll definitely be back

We were visiting friends who suggested the place. The food was amazing. Even though we arrived an hour before they closed, we were still welcomed.

Even though the place is small, it was clean and the atmosphere was charming.

This is a great restaurant! Very consistent, and always tastes fresh and flavorful. And the vindaloo and makhani are very flavorful and good.

Many gluten free options. Biryanis, vegetable dishes and curry etc.

i have to eat gluten free or I react, and took a chance trying this restaurant! I did not react to any of the food I ordered, and have since been back a few more times and still haven't had any reactions.

Wow. Yum. Just ate the lunch Veg Special. Eight sides all delicious. Nothing plain about this food. Each side was full of delicious Indian spices. I loved it!
Chai tea was great also.
Simple plain small restaurant but nothing was plain about the food. I’m working again in the area tomorrow and plan to return for the non vegetarian lunch special.

Great food! The staff is so nice there

The best Indian food in the area, and this is a high bar! There are some great Indian restaurants in Morrisville and Cary, but almost all are exclusively South Indian Cuisine. India Gate has a Northern take on southern dishes
that is wonderful. Our favorite since 2017, even as they moved locations! Same wonderful Indian dishes and owners.

My pals and I ordered delivery from India Gate last night and I’m so glad we did! All of us raved about our food! We ordered vegetable samosa, paneer pakora, chicken curry, chicken korma, butter chicken, and naturally we had to get garlic naan. All of it was excellent. Prices are very fair for the quality and quantity of food you get. This will be my go-to spot for Indian food going forward. Yum!
