Got the Philly with tots - incredible. Exactly what I was hoping for except better. Only thing coulda been better was the ranch - thicken that up! - but overall this spot knocks it out the park.

One of very few non chain burger joints left in the city. They serve breakfast all day!

Ordered 2 royals with cheese and fries. Specifically instructed them only salt on fries no other seasoning as wife has many allergies. Also stressed no black pepper on anything. Got our food home, never given receipt, discovered heavy seasoning on both orders of fries. Black pepper in the burger meat. The counter guy even tapped to give himself a tip. Wife took one bite of the burger and ended up on Benadryl the rest of the day. Definitely not going back and was asked by many other guests at the caring house how it was, you won’t be getting their business either.

My 85 year old father told me about Kings. He grew up in Durham. Best dang hot dog in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill. I didn't like their pre made burger patty. Was hoping for old fashioned hand made of fresh beef. Not to be. But I've eaten lots of dogs all over. Hands down, the BEST hot dog in the Triangle!!!!

This place is just perfect. I used to work in Elizabethtown NC and I thought that the burgers at Melvin’s were the best in the world. Until I ate here… Old school drive in right next to the old Bulls ballpark. You’ve gotta try it.

I visited King's Sandwich Shop expecting a "Durham staple" as advertised, but was sorely disappointed. The experience was terrible from start to finish. First, the service was nonexistent. I waited in the sun at the order window for nearly five minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was there. Later, after placing my order, people who came after me received their food first. When I asked the staff about my order, the person was incredibly rude and huffed at me before finally re-doing it, adding another long wait time. This level of disorganization and rudeness is unacceptable. When I finally got my food, it was not worth the wait or the price. The burger patty was dry, overcooked, and completely flavorless, like a hockey puck on a stale, cheap bun. There was no salt on the meat, and the only flavor came from the toppings. The fries were run-of-the-mill and just okay, nothing special. To top it off, they still advertise milkshakes all over the building, but they no longer serve them, which feels like false advertising. The outdoor seating area was dirty, with trash cans overflowing and flies swarming around, making it a very unpleasant atmosphere to eat in.Overall, I would not recommend this place. You can find a much better burger for the same price elsewhere in Durham. The place seems to rest on its "nostalgia" and has clearly stopped caring about the actual customer experience or food quality.

The chilli cheese fries was awesome. That burger was also excellent and so was the lemonade.

This has been like this since Durham bull played across the street. Old fashioned burgers and crinkle fries and they got the old fashioned order at the window.

Awesome food today. Price was about $18 which I thought was high INITIALLY. But when my food came and I had a box of fries covered with fixings and a huge piece of chicken on my sandwich it immediately was justified. Food was very tasty. Will be back!!

Loved our lunch at Kings. Thanks to TJ the owner who was sitting at one of the tables. Food & service was terrific. We had been told about Kings before our visit to Durham & told it was a must see. Glad we did.
