I really can't say enough about this beautiful spirited and amazing food, Gramma/s ' name sake restaurant. You open the door and become part of a family's story. It feels like Grammas' love is infused with every bite. Looks small from the outside but they have used the space well for 3 different sections of seating including a bar area and a rooftop seating area. The food is amazing. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had the best salad of my life here with the most amazing shrimp (they tasted fresh and juicy and seasoned extraordinarily well. This place is a Must go and go back again. The even support local artists showing their work on their walls and host live jazz Sunday brunches and more...Parking: If the small lot next to the restaurant is full, do not despair. You can simply turn into the lakewood shopping center behind it, turn immediately left and park right next to the restaurant with only a couple of trees separating you from your treasure if a meal.Wheelchair accessibility: Obvs no rooftop access but the main floor is all accommodating.

What's with the 20% living wage fare? Just raise the prices in the menu. That's silly math you're asking the customer to do, and you only mention it once they've taken a look at the menu (and chosen what to order).I can't fathom any reason to do this if it's not to keep the prices artificially "down" for google images.

OMG THIS PLACE HAS SUCH A SWEET ATMOSPHERE!!! it was my mother's birthday and they gave her a gift, a free sweet potato pie, and complementary red velvet cake for everyone on our 25 person group! (Because it was their one year anniversary!) Our server shay was the best! Drinks were gorgeous ?

Good was not what I had hoped for. The fried chicken was not seasoned that well but the okra was really good. Mac and cheese was so so, overall the atmosphere was great and staff were amazing.

I’m not sure I understand their business model when it comes to claiming they are a living wage restaurant. They ask you to pay an automatic 20% service fee added to the bill that the house shares. The server lets you know this before the meal. If you’d like to tip your server, you do that additionally. In the other living wage establishments I’ve been to in the US, UK, and Europe, they just pay their staff a living wage. The employees then keep any additional tips.I feel as if they’re trying to pass labor costs off to the customers. That being said, our server was wonderful and the food was decent.

1st time going. We ordered Catfish(side caesar & collards); Ribeye(veg medley & collards). Good flavors. Asked for med well steak but got rare, corrected it but came back tough; they should tell you they are charging you for ketchup, house-made, too sweet & took away from the flavor in my catfish-well cooked though; house-made hot sauce, not my flavor but charged again for that?. They also charge 20% gratuity-that didn't bother me cause I fully understand but didn't give extra, which we usually do but our waitress lacked in too many areas for service.Nevertheless, I will try them again...without the charge for condimentsVegetarian options: Good options if vegetarianKid-friendliness: I don't think so

This was my first time eating here, the waitress had an attitude. I had the FGT salad which was very good. I asked for bread and they only had corn bread which was served cold, drinks are served in a very small glass, no refills offered., no condiments on the table, had to request salt twice. I paid over 20.00 for a 14.00 salad!

Lula and Sadie's is a hidden gem. The atmosphere was terrific. Food was very good (excellent Nashville hot Chicken sandwich) and the service was strong. I will definitely be coming back.

I had the meatloaf, son chicken with red velvet waffles , daughter catfish. We all thought the meals to be superb. I loved the spices on my brocolli which made it easy to eat my veggies. I will definitely eat here again if I come back to Durham.
