Got some complicated feelings. First of all I love Southern food, and the live Jazz on Sunday was amazing. However, the food was not as great as I expected. The tasting board was $18, and the corn beef hash skillet barely had any “hash” the beef was surprisingly tasty though. And the 20% living wage thing emmmm I wasn’t sure if it was an extra or in place for the tip? Confused about why they can’t just raise the menu price and cover this part?

We went to brunch, and even though we had to wait (suggestion- make a reservation), it was worth it. The food was delicious and the live jazz was relaxing.The corned beef hash had more fat than I was used to, but that is probably why it was so tender and flavorful. The cornbread was wonderful, and the grits were cooked perfectly and were complemented by delicious vegetables.

Great spot, friendly staff, awesome food, artwork on the walls! Try the bacon stuffed cinnamon rolls to share. We had brunch here on a rainy Saturday morning and lingered over Bloody Mary’s and Eggs Benedict and Poutine in the main dining room with a table right in the window. We got to meet H2 (the owner, Harry)! H3 (his son, also Harry) was in the house as well but we didn’t get to meet him. If I lived in Durham, this would be my “go to”.
