I enjoy the restaurant staff and the restaurant itself. The food is wonderful and their chicken filling for enchiladas, tacos , ect., is wonderfully seasoned and made in house. This restaurant makes their own beautiful, chicken tamales served with a sauce. If you have not tried a tamale, do so here. They are delicately seasoned and are such a delicacy to experience. This is a family style restaurant but I have seen business lunches there, too. The location on Guess Road is easy access with much free parking.Kid-friendliness: The kids have always been enjoying their lunch order, are well behaved for their parents when I have been there.

I have been coming here since they opened, and even earlier when the great employees at matatlan used to run las palmas on Duke street many moons ago. The food is top notch, the service is second to none, and the people who work there are awesome in every way. This is one of my favorite “hidden gems” in north Durham. They also have a killer Texas margarita 24oz deal that is amazing!

We enjoyed a late lunch here, and we are glad we found this spot. I ordered grilled chicken with yellow rice and a salad with avocado. The chicken was nicely seasoned. The red rice was interesting. The seasoning was good, but the rice tasted like Pilaf. Different from what I am used to getting at a Mexican restaurant. The chips were on point. I wish the salsa had a little heat to it, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, this is a great local spot that I will be happy to visit again!

My favorite place for carne asada. Best skirt steak around and cooked perfectly. Comes with rice beans grilled green onion, jalapeño and cactus. There margaritas are good too!

Look. I am not a Mexican food aficionado. I wouldn’t be able to recognize authentic from Tex Mex from whatever other variety. What I can tell you is the food is delicious. It comes fast. It isn’t particularly expensive. There is a lot of it and most importantly they love on my little two year old. The people that work there are fantastic. Also, don’t let the outside fool you. It’s like the Tardis. Way more awesome in every conceivable way on the inside than the out.

Upscale authentic Mexican food in a laid back atmosphere. Very attentive staff. Generous portions. Handicap accessible parking and dining area (there are two entries, handicapon the left). Full bar. Try the Pollo Parrilla just to watch everyone else at the table wishing that they did. That sizzling pan is the call of the siren. Pizza and French fries for the unadventurous littles.Wheelchair accessibility: Peeps on wheels enter the business through the door on the left ...dining, restrooms, and everything else is available on that floor.
