Piper's In the Park is a popular lunch spot in Research Triangle Park, offering high-quality food with a variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The menu is available online, and orders can be placed in advance through Google Pay for quick pickup. The restaurant is busy during peak lunch hours, but parking is relatively easy to find. The atmosphere is cute, and the staff is friendly, although service can be slow during busy periods. The menu features a range of options, including sandwiches, salads, and soups, as well as daily specials. Favorites include the beef roast sandwich, Honey Walnut Chicken Salad Sandwich, and southwest burrito, accompanied by delicious sides like curried couscous. The food is flavorful, with customers praising the egg salad and curried couscous, which seem to have a special touch. The southwest burrito is highly recommended, and the soups—chili, cream mushroom, and chicken tortilla—are considered great year-round. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with a wide entrance and aisles, and can accommodate special requests for kids' meals, although there is no dedicated kids' menu. Many visitors find it to be a popping work lunch spot, with some saying it’s one of their favorite stops, especially for the soups and banana cream pudding to end the meal. The welcoming staff makes it a good choice for everyone, even first-time visitors.
