Was excited to try this place. Heard the shawarma’s great. Showed up around 1pm. Door was open but all the menu screens were off. A woman in the kitchen saw me and confirmed they were open. A younger man came out and turned on one screen so I could see (some of?) the menu. It listed ~5 sandwiches and two plates. I ordered the chicken shawarma. He said they were out of it, then said they only had gyro and the beef burger, and to come back at 2pm if I wanted anything other than gyro or the burger. I figured okay, I’ll try the gyro. I’m Greek. Came all the way out here to treat myself to a real lunch for the first time in months. Not the worst compromise I guess.Paid, waited, and was given… some broken up old beef kofta bits on saj (the thin flatbread used for shawarma wraps, not like pita for gyros), with a few slices of tomato and some super soggy bits of old lettuce. The saj is fully dried out at the ends like it’s been sitting out for a while? Couldn’t have been an order mix up bc the kofta doesn’t come with these toppings. I was the only customer. They clearly just threw random scraps together to be able to hand me something. If your kitchen isn’t prepped yet for the day’s service, or you’re out of everything, just say that. I’m so frustrated and only leaving this bc nobody’s picking up the phone.

When I ordered a sandwich last month I arrived at the restaurant to be told they were out of chicken and hadn’t made it. I gave it another chance today and when I arrived to pick up my food the restaurant was closed, yet my card was charged. I am very unhappy and very hungry.

Waste of my money the fish I had tasted old and like it was fried in old oil waste of 11 dollars I was starving before work. I didn't even finish once I noticed the old flavors through the whole plate

My family and I have been ordering from Kitchen Queen for the last few months and it has become one of our favorite places in Durham. The food has always been consistently delicious, of good quality, and fresh. We love that it is a family owned and run restaurant that is caring and gracious to their customers. We recently decided to order catering from Kitchen Queen and they did a fantastic job. They provided us with Mediterranean fare including but not limited to baba ganoush, hummus, falafel, kebab, and stuffed grapes leaves (which were our favorite). They were professional, timely, and took the greatest care in the presentation of the platters (see pictures attached). They were able to meet the group’s dietary restrictions that included a vegan diet and nut allergies. All our guests loved the food and asked for the restaurant’s name and location. Please visit and order from this great Mediterranean place! We also highly recommend their fish fry and fried okra.Vegetarian options: Great options for vegetarians and vegans!!!!Dietary restrictions: They were able to work with our nut allergies and vegan diet.

It may not look like much, but the food and service make up for it. I had the best chicken gyro I've had in years. The fried okra was outstanding and hubby's fries were some of the best ever! Stayed crispy until they were gone!
Foods great, they just often forget to include pita w their hummus, regardless if you make

What a great surprise. My husband and I wanted chicken kebabs and thought we should try something other than Neomonde’s. We loved Kitchen Queen. We got the chicken kebabs and a chicken shawarma sandwich. Both are super flavorful and delicious and made to order. We will be back. We ate too fast to take a picture.
Very, very pleasant people. Being Muslim myself, I always support my brothers and sisters. The food is great! I've recommended them to many of my fellow coworkers. They all enjoyed it.
Perfect spot for a college student like myself to grab a bite to eat. They’re dependable and great service all around. 10/10, love this place!
