Best Chinese food in the area. We’ve been going for decades, and they are consistent and delicious and always so nice.

Great food and service everytime I visit. My favorite dishes are the hot and sour soup, general Tso, hot fish, and moo shu. This is the Chinese restaurant in Durham!

I got white only General Tso chicken. All this for lunch special and only $11 is a steal. The food is delicious and always hot. This is the best Chinese food I’ve had in the triangle area.

I hadn’t been here in quite a while and decided to come back, but unfortunately I left underwhelmed. I ordered the Emperor Chicken, which was delicious as always, though the vegetables were very sparse this time.
The biggest disappointment was the crab rangoon. They were seriously lacking both crab and flavor - each one had only a small chunk of crab surrounded by mostly plain cream cheese. To make matters worse, they were initially left out of my bag, so I had to go back to pick them up.
Overall, their entrées are still strong, but the crab rangoon was one of the worst I’ve had. Hoping this was just an off day.

Outstanding, awesome food and taste. Everything was fresh, and portioned very well. Price, and food was equal in quality. Highly recommend, everyone to go on a regular basis.

I don’t love Chinese food to begin with, my friends LOVE this place, I found it to be very greasy and I had serious sodium bloat afterward. The staff were lovely.

The food at Shanghai Restaurant is always fresh and well prepared. Everything tastes good and consistent, and the portions are generous for the price. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. What really stands out is the service and the staff are polite, friendly, and make you feel welcome every time. This is a reliable spot that we enjoy coming back to

Ordered for delivery. They left the food outside the apartment building by the entrance door in the cold…although instructions were placed with code to the entrance door. Food was not good. General tao didnt have much meat in it. Sweet and sour chicken was extremely oily and soggy.

Tried take out for the first time dining at this location. The first restaurant that actually included vegetables in sesame chicken, which is always a plus. Food was tasty and everyone was satisfied with their order. I recommend.
