Wow! So many delicious vegan options on their lunch buffet. Apparently they have a ALL VEGAN buffet every other Thursday! So sad I will miss it since I'm heading back to FL on Monday.

I give 3.5 stars based on one visit to a Thursday vegan buffet. I applaud them for this recurring event. I rounded up because of the vegan buffet existing. Without the buffet, I'd round down simply because there's a lot of competition for Indian restaurants in the Triangle and I'd choose many of those restaurants over Sitar. The buffet dishes were on the blander side comparatively though this may be to appeal to a wider palate; I haven't ordered from their menu to compare to their offerings outside of the buffet. Still, there was such a large variety of offerings, and the menu seems to fluctuate so that would be reason to return to the buffet. The vegan flan was definitely the highlight of the buffet for me. It was very good. I hope the vegan buffet continues to thrive. Unfortunately its location and day of the week aren't convenient for me so that's another factor that will prevent me from returning frequently but I tried not to let that affect my rating.

We went for my husband's birthday mid-afternoon. The food was great and the buffet had a great selection of vegan food. Vegan and gluten free foods were labeled. The servers were very attentive and gave us free wine and dessert. They also sang happy birthday and offered to take our picture!

I am a student at NC State and I’ve eaten Sitar catered through different events on campus. I was able to come with my family to Sitar tonight, and it was just as phenomenal as before. I am absolutely obsessed. The restaurant environment was cozy and clean, and the employees were all kind. Additionally, they were keen to fill up our glasses and take away empty plates. Ram checked in on us a few times to ensure our comfort, and it was an overall great meal. I ate until I couldn’t anymore, and I am so excited to eat it again sometime in the future. Thanks for a fulfilling meal!!

If you're a parent, you know that finding a spot where the staff genuinely make you feel welcome is priceless.The food’s top-notch, plenty of vegetarian/vegan choices, and they never miss. It's always great. We haven’t hit the special Thursday vegan buffet yet, but it’s on our list. If you want a place where the staff’s solid, the food’s great, and they know how to handle a family, this is your spot. Solid 10/10.

I was nervous when I first heard Sitar had changed ownership (its been a while since that happened maybe more than a year) but I had no reason to be!The food is just as delicious as always (maybe even better?). I'm a bit fan of the flan they added to the buffet. Everyone is is kind and attentive and they are very understanding about my toddler. I feel like I'm family when I'm there. We go often because the food and service is excellent.Ram in particular has given us wonderful service each time we go, he is kind and thoughtful. Somehow he remembers my and my big family each time. I appreciate all the effort he (and all the rest of the staff) puts in.Kid-friendliness: They are kind and understanding with my child and others children. I once saw a child break a glass and they were so kind and patient with them while still prioritizing the kids safety.

My husband had been talking about bringing me here as he really enjoys Indian food and they did not disappoint. We were greeted promptly by a very pleasant hostess, where she suggested the buffet. The buffet offered a great variety of foods and even offered mint cucumber mojita ( which I've never had before tonight). We had a fantastic server Ram. I will definitely be back.

Our visit to Sitar Indian Cuisine in Durham was nothing short of exceptional! From the impeccable service by Raam to the mouthwatering dishes like BBQ platters, vegetable pakoras, and chicken chilli, every aspect exceeded our expectations. Raam even surprised us with complimentary gajar ka halwa for our wedding anniversary! We highly recommend Sitar for an unforgettable dining experience.
