HAD AN AMAZING STAY AT THE RED ROOF KELLY & KAMAR ARE PHENOMENAL AND I WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK AGAIN TO STAY HERE! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great place to stay for an abasing price with great staff THANKYOU again.
Kamar was great during check in very polite young man thank you for treating me and my wife with hospitality. The room was clean and free of trash I heard bad things about this location but I must say my stay was very comfortable will return
5 out of 5. i rate the city of durham thou on this comments bc they want to take ova the hotel! they are going on dates down the hallways & saying ‘good talk’ as they walk by. last county worker that say good talk to me i out on ‘tier clock’ ; out in the common area in washoe co bldg. the guy mumbles ‘good talk’ to me as i return to my room in washoe co bldg that (wcso) they have me @ for no reason to begin w! So.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst management and corporate response to an incident. This hotel is a PIG in a DRESS. Room had been used, but then bed simply "made". Black Mold in shower (see photos), AC unit was moldy. All the rooms were the same. Elevator smelled of urine and pot. People grilling and parting in the stairwells. Front desk simply said, it's my last night working here, and I would have to talk to management/corporate. I went all the way up the chain, tossed around, and I was finally told the case is closed and nothing will be done. We used the room to change our clothes to go out and did not return
It won't let me choose no stars, so I had to put one star, but trust me DO NOT STAY at this hole of a motel! I had the most horrific experience today with the manager Ebony that I still cannot believe it actually happened. I called 2 days before and the morning of my check in asking if I could just check in 1.5 hours early as my flight gets in at 1pm and I had 2 large suitcases and no transportation. They told me they'd mark my reservation, then I called this morning and the manager was soo rude to me on the phone and wouldn't even consider an early check in, kept telling me check in is at 3pm with no flexibility. I ended up going to the hotel early and figured I'd sit in the lobby only to find out she has the lobby closed and would not allow me to sit in it and wouldn't even see if she could check me in early. She was soo rude, abrasive, unsympathetic, uncompromising and has no customer service skills, she was yelling at me the whole time, I just couldn't believe what I was hearing from her and continuously threatening to cancel my reservation for my 2 week stay. I sat in the vestibule because I had no where to go and she continued to yell at me and tell me I couldn't be there, I spoke back to her and she started screaming at me telling me she was cancelling my reservation and then proceeded to threaten my life she said "she'd f**k me up and kick my a** across this hotel, she said I was lucky she needed her job otherwise she'd come right out there and take care of me" (needs her job, is she kidding)? Then she told me she cancelled my reservation and called the police to come remove me from "her premises". I asked to speak to the owners and she refused to give me any information. She was out of control. The police came and asked me if I'd like to press charges? I would have loved to but unfortunately i'm in town to take care of my dad who is sick and don't have the time to deal with this situation. Honestly, she did me a HUGE favor because this place soo filthy, disgusting, run down, I don't want to even imagine how horrifying the rooms must be. They say you get what you pay for and boy if that's not the truth in this case. Please do not support this place and show her she can not treat people this way! I hope I can save others from having to go through what I did today. I'm still shaking from the whole situation.
We have stayed at RR in various locations multiple times in Pa., Va., and NC-Duke mainly because of welcoming my dogs and having a good place to take them outdoors. I have asked in the past (Durham-Duke and Harrisburg, Pa, if my 10 lb terriers were welcome and been assured they were no problem). Apparently it IS a problem and only ONE dog is welcome.. Also since we were there for a tx at Duke Medical we left them in the room and they barked when there were people in the outside corridor near the rooms and it was noted and was an issue. I am sorry they bothered anyone. The room was in poor condition with rust, paint issues, dirty floor, NO hangers but would have stayed again as it is near the Medical Center. Our dogs are usually quiet, well mannered and non destructive. Will go back to LaQuinta as before..
Disappointing. $2.50 for fairly meager tacos. No pastor or lengua available. Salsa was interesting (chipotle?) but too sweet. No charring on the asada or chorizo. Asada was gristly, chewy. Service was kind and quick.

Jordan, the desk clerk was great, helped resolve reservation issue. He was very polite and professional. My room was exceptionally clean and appeared newly remodeled. Tommy had a queen bed, work station, safe, microwave & mini refrigerator. Bed was comfortable. Too tired to watch RV but it was big and new. Not sure what else you could want for $60/night.

We stayed for one night and the rooms were clean, front desk was friendly and the property looks to be going through some renovations. The water pressure was good in the bathrooms and the place was quiet and convenient for our needs.
The hotel as most red roofs of the style is older but going through a transformation. It’s ground and the room are spotless. The price was comparable on the weeknight we stayed. The front desk staff were helpful and the manager Saniyah went above and beyond. The furniture was older but functional. We had an issue with the phones but the fixed it right away. Overall great experience for the money!
Bottom-line, this hotel is filled with drug dealers. The front desk is rude as can be and I literally at times thought I would get shot or stabbed when walking my dog, which BTW the area to do so is a hill. Nothing flat and about 10 ft. with a fence next to a major heavy traffic area. Smokers and drunks knocking on my door from 1 AM to 4 AM. Spotty cable choices, I suggest bring a DVD player and Netflix. I never like to be negative, nor rude as a hotel cannot discriminate, but for the safety factor alone you cannot have a policeman patrol the area? Or here is a thought, have cameras up and monitor the drugs and people walking around like zombies and remove them from the property. This is a serious time, I suggest the hotel takes a serious approach. My advice, run as far away as you can.
After 11 hours on the road, we just wanted some rest after traveling to our new home city Durham, NC. This was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! It’s Red Roof Inn so my expectations aren’t high...but it should be clean and quiet with properly functioning locks! This property met none of the above! At check in, waited 15 minutes for John to show up to get me checked in (not his fault, he was changing someone’s room). I don’t like that they take your credit card out of view to process payment...not a good business practice. Half of the lot was shut down for pavement work - towing a UHaul was extremely hard to get parked with limited parking - seems like this would be a Sunday project, not mid-week. The entire outside reeks of marijuana and cigarettes...supposedly a smoke free property?! Lots of unsavory people hanging out in the parking lot and on the balconies...did not feel safe at all! I will say the room did not smell of smoke though but that’s as good as it gets! Dirty floors-feet print marks coming into room, hairs in bedding, some kind of stains on comforter (don’t want to know, slept on top of bedding with towels under us), sink drained very slow, toilet felt like it was going to tip over when you sat down, walls are paper thin and doors opening and closing until the early morning hours. The worst part...the locks don’t work! Thankfully it worked the first time we went to the room but just flashed red and green after so one of us had to stay in the room to let the other in....of all After 11 hours on the road, we just wanted some rest after traveling to our new home city Durham, NC. I am sure not all of the reviews here are real. The pictures are not fair here. The place was nothing short of a dump. Construction workers and unfriendly-looking people hanging over the balconies. Room was not clean, bed had hair in it and the floor was smudgy and sticky. I refused to walk barefoot. While it was 20 degrees out at night, the room would not heat although I constantly adjusted the thermostat. It took a while for the water to run hot and the shower pressure was so low that I had to stand directly under the spout. I prepaid via tmobiletravel and almost checked out early. I will not return to recommend this place to single/solo female travelers or anyone with small children.
