Amazing food and friendly service! The mussels appetizer was delicious, I also had their scallop special which was perfectly cooked. Even their simple caesar salad was perfectly executed. Best of all there was no wait on a Fri night, and the place had a great relaxed vibe. Highly recommended!

My husband and I went here on an impromptu date night at about 8:00 pm. The restaurant wasn't too busy, and our service was great! We each ordered a glass of wine, and we were informed that it was carafe night, so we each received a generous glass and a half. For dinner, my husband had chicken ravioli (which I was a little put off by, given this seemed like a non-traditional ravioli filling) and I had the orecchiette. Each with notably homemade pasta. Despite my initial thought, the chicken ravioli was delicious. It was almost like a chicken dumpling, with a homemade Italian feel. My orecchiette was also great, loaded with veggies and sausage. It was slightly over salted for my taste, but still very enjoyable. Lastly, we had the Italian donuts with the lemon cream, a new menu item. These were fantastic! Wonderfully fried, but not too heavy, with a pleasantly citrusy sweet glaze to dip in. We have been here once before and were, admittedly, underwhelmed, but I think they have done a great job refreshing the menu and modifying the recipes based on their reviews! We will absolutely be back!

We have visited The Boot a few times and each time it's been great! The food and drinks are delicious, and the service has been on point. The servers seem to really know their stuff and can easily answer questions about the menu. During our recent visit I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli. This was unlike any dish I've ever had before. It had pistachios and pesto sauce. It was just the right amount of food, and not as heavy as some other types of ravioli. I would definitely order this again. For dessert the tiramisu was awesome! We also had orange and chocolate cannolis that were great. We had calamari as an appetizer...I don't eat calamari, but everyone at our table was raving about how great it was. They take reservations, and have a parking lot.

Recently grabbed some take-out from here to take next door to Beer Study. It was my first time, and I easily placed an order online for an ASAP pick-up and then drove in. I opted for the spinach and ricotta ravioli and some garlic bread, and pick-up was easy and fast. The interior looks nice, but looks nothing like an Italian restaurant in terms of decor and/or atmosphere. The ravioli were cooked fine, but seriously lacked for flavor. I wanted to add salt and pepper to them, as they seemed to have been prepared with no seasoning whatsoever. Very odd. Not bad, just lacking in much flavor. The garlic bread was quite tasty and a reasonable portion, though the ravioli serving felt pretty minimal. Unsure if I'll be back based on this experience.

My hubby and i went to The Boot for dinner. We must have gotten half the menu because none of the food on the pics were on the menu. We started off with the calamari. It was very salty and one of the sauces served was a tomato sauce that tasted like it was poured straight out of a jar or can. No umph. Though the calamari was nicely fried, it was pretty salty. We also had mozzarella sticks that were pretty wide not that great, and salty as well. Next we had a sausage, mushroom, and arugala pizza. We liked the crust but, once again the pizza was very salty and lacked flavor. Maybe the other flavors were overpowered by the salt. I don't understand why the pizza places in durham don't add garlic and oregano to the pizza and easy on the sauce. The waiter was friendly. We won't be returning. I give it the boot.

My wife and I love Italian food and have been to the Boot twice so far. While the menu is not extensive compared to chain restaurants, we've always been pleased and typically order one of their delicious specials. The atmosphere is spartan but comfortable, and will appeal to millennials. Highly recommend you give it a try. We will definitely be back.

Great simple Italian with awesome specials. Portions are nicely sized and food is cooked well. Easy, neighborhood restaurant. Parking is sometimes an issue on weekends, but still easier than downtown.

Amazing! I will definitely come back again! I suggest getting the Arugula salad and orecchiette.

We went to The Boot in conjunction with First Hand Foods Tour de Pork. Saw the reviews were meh so we were unsure. Got there and thought the setting was great. Started with a Caesar's salad which was delicious. Then I went with the stuffed pork loin special and my wife had the spaghetti and meatballs. Neither disappointed. Finished with a tiramisu and was delighted with the taste. Is it expensive? About what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Not too pricey but not cheap. The wait staff was amazing and never had to ask for refills or anything really. Overall it was excellent and will be back.

The first time I went the food was phenomenal but I didn't feel welcomed and the service was slow especially for only eight people in the restaurant I'm going to try again because the food was seasoned and top notched five stars presentation
