If I'm paying $20 a plate I expect more than 2 pieces of ribs.
NEVER have I had a bad meal since about 2015,… Started eating here after my visit a DUMC… My ultimate favorite meal is the Brisket… So tender, and moist, the words cannot do it justice… Also. I like the pulled pork plate… and just the amount of servings… The Mac and Cheese is the best side but my wife argues the Collards are best… But can’t forget the baked beans and I like to add more of their great tasting BBQ Sauce… After all, they are the best in Durham…
Do they smoke the food here? Not a trace of hickory smoke outside. Inside I think they had a bunch of hickory smoke candles. Got a brisket sandwich which was big enough for two meals. It comes with a side and a bunch of fabulous hush puppies. I'd stop just for the hush puppies.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level entrance.

Best hush puppies ever. Good bbq. Pulled pork is mixed in a spicier sauce, if you’re just expecting the plain meat.

Great food, service, and atmosphere. The portions were appropriate for the price. I shall return.

Remarkably mediocre. Order 2pc catfish—fried crispy but fish tasted old and breading had no flavor. Slaw was vinegary and had celery in it? Very unusual. Hushpuppies and fries are good though. Would avoid.

The meats aren't wood smoked. My chopped pork BBQ was wet meat, that was before the BBQ sauce, also was cool not hot. The BBQ Ribs were probably originally boiled. Perhaps the meats are electronically smoked, although not sure how they were cooked. Gotta put fire to meat to call it BBQ folks.

Food is always excellent. My go to is the Cobb salad. My absolute favorite salad ever.

The Original Q Shack had outstanding review ratings, so I took a three-hour trip to eat there on November 23rd. They serve generous portions of food; you won't leave hungry. The brisket was on the nearly dry side. Jalapeño deviled eggs sound wonderful, but it's just a slice of jalapeño at the top that makes it different from average, that's all. The hush puppies were very good. The shredded pork was just a hair above average. The pimento cheese grits were excellent. What a letdown for me and my group of friends who made a special trip. We were looking forward to a 5-star BBQ perfection, but got a 3-star experience not worth $25 per person.

Had food poisoning while I was still there. Had to go to the bathroom to throw up Waiting for my family to finish eating. Threw up all night. The bathroom is one stall. When I came out there was a line. How embarrassing bathrooms are quite inefficient for that size restaurant, The nightly special meatloaf is what got me so sick
