Ten out of Ten. As you can see my plate is gone. It was absolutely delicious, I wanted to take a picture before I started eating but the smell and visual had my stomach on go and once I got that first bite I just couldn't stop ?.Parking is a little tight I believe they share with another restaurant but I pulled up just in time to get a front door spot yay..Menu is on the wall with many options. I got the chopped barbecue with the red potato salad and greens... OMG let's start with the Barbecue 10/10 it was chopped and juicy I asked for extra BBQ sauce . It has like a vinegar based flavor but sweet BBQ after it is amazing. This comes CHOPPED by itself or on a SANDWICH I believe it's like a toasted Texas toast( I could be wrong).The potato salad had nice chunky potatoes with a great base especially with the relish it was absolutely delish...The greens AMAZING cooked to perfection with a slight sweet taste it was so good.. I can't even explain .. the size was just perfect I didn't have to slurp my greens up cause it was super long ?.Checkout was quick I was kind of bummed they didn't have the creme soda bottles but the they have other options FOUNTAIN DRINKS, BOTTLED SODA, CANS, WATER.THIS PLACE WAS JUST ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGTEN OUT OF TEN!
Q-Shack is a local favorite. Certain rush hour crowed may force you to wait in line a fairly long time and parking is free but the parking lot depending on the time of the day can be very crowded. If you are used to Tex BBQ, it might take you time to get used to North Carolina BBQ. Q-Shack is one of the favorite locals’ bbq places . Sides are good. My favorite is the brisket followed by the smoked turkey. The food is not cheap but quality is really good. Order online or call in advance for pick up if you don’t like waiting in line (reason for my last visit to QStack was to pickup dinner for our guests and everyone LOVED the food. I ordered in advance because I didn’t want to wait inline). I would recommend this place if you like a local restaurant that is not a tourist trap:)

Had the smoked chicken plate with mac&cheese and creamed spinach. Everything tasted great. The only reason for 4 stars is because they ran out of brisket which was the initial reason of wanting to try this place out and they also ran out of baked potato so they gave us the creamed spinach to substitute. Hopefully next time they’ll have everything stocked up that we would like to try!Parking: It’s a shared parking lot in a little plaza so it could get filled up quickly especially on weekends.

Everything was sooo good. I tried the rib plate and my daughter had the chicken. , portions were very satisfying, severice was exceptional. I will definitely be back soon . Overall great experience!

I got the loaded baked potato with brisket, and it came with a good helping of hush puppies. It was soooooo delicious. The brisket was very tender and had the prefect smoke ring. The potato was fluffy and cooked to prefection. I will definitely recommend this dish and get it again.I am never disappointed when I eat here!

We ordered the Tailgate #1 for takeout. Everything was excellent! Phone was answered quickly, professionally, and friendly. Some of the best brisket and ribs I’ve ever had from a restaurant and the pulled pork was very good. Definitely recommend the Mac & cheese and hush puppies for sides.

The original Q Shack is a staple in Durham. From the brisket, chicken wings, potatoes and salad.. they are always consistent.Parking: Parking can be tight sometimes depending on what time of the day. No parking in the lots across the street or you may be towed.
I love this place, everything is good. The meats are always smoked well and moist. Ribs, Sausage and pork in the picture. Along with Fried Okra, beans and hush puppies.
