I am new to the area and wanted to try this place since it had many positive reviews. Maybe it was an off day for the staff because when my fiancé and I walked in, no one greeted us and they all stared silently at us until we approached the counter and only during that moment was when they said hello.Again, it is our first time so we are not familiar with the menu and ended up ordering quickly because the staff was not very friendly and stared at us like we were idiots and seemed like they wanted to rush us.The bright side was that the ice cream was good and the interior of the restaurant is cute. I’m very disappointed with my overall experience.

We came here after dinner for some ice cream. The line went out the door and it probably took us maybe about ten minutes to order. There were a lot of people here eating so there were not a lot of tables available. We ordered a few things like a single scoop of Cookies N Cream, a single scoop of Lavender Olive Oil Marscapone, and a Shake. The inside was bright and had a relaxed vibe. The Cookies N Cream was good and definitely good for those who always order that at other stores. The Lavender Olive Oil Marscapone was not bad and it wasn't overwhelming to me. I didn't try the Shake. The amount of ice cream for a single scoop was enough for one person and I would recommend either of those flavors. Good ice cream here and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

The brownie sundae is worth getting! They give you plenty of ice cream, brownies, hot fudge, and whipped cream. The ice cream is better than Jeni's (competitor). Next time I'm in Durham this will be on my list of places to visit.

Went there after dinner and got a vegan brownie because it had nuts. Also a very fine cup of hot chocolate. Good times, good times.

Visited The Parlour ice cream shop on a Saturday night in February and was impressed! Despite the line extending outside, the friendly staff efficiently managed it, and we got our ice creams within 15 minutes. I tried the Girl Scout mint flavor, and it was excellent! They also offer complimentary water and cups to cleanse your palate after indulging in their sweet ice creams. Great service and delicious treats – definitely worth the wait!Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan and allergy free options. Also has lactose pills available for $0.50Parking: Since it is downtown might have to park in a parking garage and walk.

Super solid ice cream shop. Decent flavors and fairly large selection, but a bit long to wait for what it is and also on the pricier side.
An iconic ice-cream parlor in downtown Durham! Many flavors to choose from, but I always go for the vanilla. The only thing I dislike about it is that it open at 12pm instead of 9am. Hahaha!

How eggnoggy is the eggnog shake special? The perfect amount. Delicious. The employees could not have been more kind and made it an overall lovely experience. Also loved the ice cream sandwich! Good vibes.

I've been coming to the parlour occasionally since it opened. Back in the day the flavors and texture of the ice cream (esp the chocolate) seemed exceptional. Because of my past impressions I've continued to try the ice cream despite being very disappointed in the quality. Maybe it was a bad batch? Off day? But after many attempts I'm convinced the recipes have changed. The texture is consistently gummy (instead of creamy) and the flavors just aren't popping like they used to. Is this a case of an established business resting on their laurels? If you're not that picky about your ice cream this place is still fine, I'm sure. But If you appreciate really good ice cream, this just isn't it anymore IMO.

The Parlour is a must visit if you are in Durham. We tried a few samples and it was a scoop of the Vietnamese Coffee for my husband and the Honey Lavender for me. I also tried the Salted Butter Caramel and really liked it. We took our scoops to go but there is seating available inside.
