The food was absolutely terrific. Not being really familiar with their fare our wonderful server guided us through appetizers and main dishes. Desert was equally well considered and delicious. Will return for sure.

Excellent food and craft cocktails - the spicy papi should not be missed. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Only criticism is that it was a bit loud, but most places are these days.

This is my favorite restaurant! The food is excellent and always tastes the same, never varies in taste or quality! The staff is very friendly and I have made friends with many of them. They ALWAYS make me feel welcome. The bartenders have cool stuff all the time. Very creative. The ambiance is very easy. You can feel comfortable there. The owner and head chef travel to India yearly to source spices for the dishes ... that is authentic Indian!

We came here to celebrate my brother's 40th and the food didn't disappoint! Most dishes we had were commonly known dishes from Indian restaurants but Viceroy had surprisingly original flavors to them. Momo Bhel was a spicy, crunchy and light appetizer!

Food is soooo good. The portions are perfect and the service is exceptional. We asked our waitress for recommendations and she did not disappoint.

Horrible experience here. I’m not sure what everyone else experienced, but this was not the case for me.

Really yummy Indian food. The atmosphere of the place was really nice. I liked the way it was decorated. I would recommend reservations and it can be hard to get one day of. I will say they have a time limit for each table and they do get people through really fast. We were in and out in like 40 minutes for dinner. Good place to go in downtown DurhamParking: Public parking lot behind the building. Free in the evenings and on weekends.

Vintage ambiance, dim lighting and "royal-looking" walls with portraits of historic Indian figures displayed all throughout the restaurant, give Viceroy a unique atmosphere. We visited on a Thursday evening, and they had a wait time of 45 mins, so we put our names in the wait list and chose to sit by the bar. Nonetheless, a table was ready for us in about 15 minutes. We had their Hariyali chicken kebab, Angara tikka kebab and momo bhel alongside beer and wine, and got a chicken korma to go. The momo bhel was okay but the kababs and chicken korma were lip-smacking good. Would love to visit again.

The food is amazing. I especially loved the lamb lollipops. Our waitress was incredibly amazing but the maître d' was especially rude and unaccommodating.

This was a fabulous dining experience! Plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. The reason that I knocked off one star is that the dhal I ordered was so insanely salty! But it was very tasty. The atmosphere is awesome. It is a great place to meet up with friends.Vegetarian options: Various beans And lentils in different types of saucesDietary restrictions: Gluten-Free, vegan

We had a nice dinner in Viceroy. We particularly liked the ambience and decoration of the restaurant. It is an elegant place where you can enjoy Indian food. The food itself was pretty good, we especially loved the butter chicken. It was kind of heavy though but that is personal preference. The only dish we didn't like was the dessert. The cake was indifferent to say the least. Overall, a nice restaurant for groups or date night.

This place was absolutely amazing. Not only were the food and drinks perfect, the service was impeccable. Word to the wise, the food leans on the spicy side, which we love, and just wanted to share in case that is helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic Service (thanks KI C for explaining and advising well). and delicious authentic Indian flavors. Agree that the lamb chops, Punjabi curry ( with chicken), and naan were great .. I would add that the vegetable samosas were also perfectly executed. Even the rice was so flavorful. Kudos to the chef and the hard working staff. Will definitely go back--want to try many other dishes on the menu. Also Pleasantly surprised at the manageable noise level.

Dietary restrictions: Best Indian food of my life and all the staff were so welcoming and fun! Our server was so knowledgeable on the menu and hooked us up, I recommend adding the mango papaya salad to your curry it adds the most beautiful crunch and burst of flavor
