I used to enjoy getting drinks here during my shift, but my last experience was concerning. I believe the coffee triggered an anxiety attack and I vomited shortly after drinking it. I was sick for two days. This was a distressing experience. I hope the café checks their preparation routine and quality, as it could help prevent others from having a similar issue :/
Lovely and cute place, the drinks were good and the staff were super friendly. However, the AC does not seem to work. Me and friends were there for about 20-30 minutes or so and the heat was a bit much. From what I was able to gather it seems like this has been going on for a while. This is rather concerning and I definitely think this should be a priority for any establishment. I wish I could recommend this place but the lack of AC would definitely make anyone walk away, especially as we are heading into the summer.
Since summer is here basically, I would’ve like some nice cool drink, but when I walked in, it was really hot and it was uncomfortable for me to wait for my drink and I just couldn’t imagine how the workers feel especially during rush hour.
- Rude and unfriendly service
- Limited selection
- Tea was meh
Really disappointed...I have been to the chapel Hill location several times and always had a great experience. Today we went to this location and sat for 30 minutes just to be called up and told they were out of rice and made my rice ball and not my husband's and would refund us for the one. Like just say that when we order don't make us wait 🫠. The one rice ball I did receive was good.
really good. i normally go to Quickly Tea in Durham when i leave my Veteran’s Affairs doctor’s appointments but since they’re closed on Mondays i cried but looked for somewhere reasonably close and i decided to try here for the 1st time. i normally love gyoza from Quickly Tea and same drink Okinawa Milk Tea but surprisingly they had it here as well, and it was amazing! i like how you can get the sweetness to your desired level and there’s so many options! i’ll definitely come here again!
Ordered the Hulk tea with 50% less sugar, and the only thing sweet about it was the lychee that I added. I assumed it came with it because it was in the picture. But I ended up paying more for it. I got a taste of the green floaty stuff in the bottom and it’s basically a blended up jolly rancher. I’ll swing a mess. One out of five stars because the girl was working really nice.
I adore Yaya. Amazing teas and food. They have a variety of vegan rice balls. The tofu fries are also so good! I have not had a tea that wasn't amazing.
Wonderful Japanese snacks!
I love coming here. it's a nice place to pick up a quick snack. I adore their riceballs, but the most recent 3 times, the rice has been hard and dry. the milk teas are also not really that strong. it's mostly milk and hardly any tea. I hope this changes soon.

I stood there waiting on my order to be picked up and it wasn't even started and took 2 more customers and they didn't even acknowledge my presence
Very cute! This was my first time coming here and I took my neice, who is a picky eater, to try some bubble/boba tea for her first time. The staff was very friendly, patient, and helpful. It took a few samples, but we went with regular milk tea for my neice and she loved it ❤. I ordered at the counter, but their automated kiosk looked like it worked. For various reasons the kiosk could be a benefit for customers, especially those who use ASL.

Yaya tea was perfect and better than expected, don’t be fooled by any bad reviews if you’re looking for onigiri this is a solid spot for it. Sizes are phenomenal for the price as well. I’m not a boba tea person but I got a milk tea and it was perfect. Will be back and will recommend to folks

Bubble tea… one of my guilty pleasures. Whether you call it bubble tea, boba tea, milk tea, boba, squishy ball milk… we all have somewhat of an idea of what we’re looking for when we get that craving for some chewy, yummy, brown sugary sweetness.
Yaya Tea as a shop is not new to me, being a UNC graduate my friends and I used to frequent the Franklin St location religiously for their Thai Milk Tea, Rice Balls, and Spring Rolls. Imagine my surprise when I realized that there was another Yaya within walking distance of my house! When I walked in, it was pretty… well, dead. Besides pop music playing, there wasn’t a person in sight. When someone did finally emerge from the back, I received a lackluster “Hello”. Not much acknowledgement or direction to order at the tablet that was placed on the counter. Thankfully I’m not too out of touch or technologically challenged and got the gist on what to do to get my order started.
The overall atmosphere of this particular location at Golden Belt was pretty nice. Modern, faux greenery scattered about, an LED light motivational quote. It’s obvious that it’s a younger audience they’re marketing towards, which is made complete by the Hello Kitty and Friends keychains hanging on the wall for sale and plushies lining the shelves in various bubble tea and food forms. Listen, I’m not mad at it either. It gave me something to look at and use as a hangry stress ball while I waited for my drink. Which didn’t take very long. I ordered a large black milk tea with tapioca pearls, light ice, 100% sweetness, and within 5 minutes it had been placed on the pick up counter.
Now, the milk tea is VERY sweet. And I’m a sweets kind of girl. The idea of getting a drink at 125% sweetness after tasting the regular 100% sweetness made my teeth ache. I should have went with my gut and set the sweetness at 75%, so keep this in mind.
The tapioca was just right, not too soft and not too hard. However, there wasn’t enough of it in my drink, and within 5 sips I was almost completely out of tapioca and left only with this super sweet and sugary milk tea (that albeit, I was finding it hard to finish).
Overall, the tea was decent, just not spectacular. Maybe I will make the walk again to try another tea (with a lot less sugar next time).

This place is complete FIREEEE!! I loved the customer service the workers were very nice and very helpful as it was my first time going to any type of boba store. They played good music and had so many options to choose from as well as a lot of merch. I ended up getting a shrimp tempura riceball and a Boyfriend Fruit Tea. They were both so good!! I absolutely reccomend coming here if it is your first time trying boba.
