Based on reviews, Barrera’s Kitchen offers a much better experience than when it was Alex’s Grill. The staff is kind, lovely, and cordial, providing quick and efficient service. The restaurant is very clean, including the restroom. The food is hot and tasty, with a combination Greek and Mexican food menu. Specific meals mentioned include the Coconut almond ice cream, great burgers, the California burrito, and a soft grilled chicken taco with guacamole. The chips and salsa are very good as well. The prices are reasonable. Meals after church have been very good, and the waitress checks on customers and provides more beverages as needed. The establishment is underrated, with one reviewer driving 30 minutes from Winston to eat there. The food is rated A+++. It has all the warmth of a small town cafe. A positive experience overall.
