Currituck BBQ II, Elizabeth City

With good food and good service, the only thing holding this place back is atmosphere. The building is tired. And the floors inside really don't have any excuse for being as dirty as they are. The white tiles are yellow and black from dirt, grime and probably leftover barbecue sauce. I know what I'd do if I owned it!

I usually go to the Barco location, but I was headed out of town back to where we live and wanted another sandwich. The sandwich did not disappoint. The place is located in the old ExxonMobil service center that my mom took her car to get worked on and refueled. A nice bit of nostalgia for me. The place was clean and the people were nice.

Great pulled pork barbecue and ribs! We're particularly fond of the sweet potato and the fried okra sides! Easy to order and take out or eat in. They never disappoint!

Not what I expected! Food/service size was small. The taste was two thumbs down. I was very disappointed; I thought Carolina was supposed to have the best barbecue. I will not return.

I bought a half a chicken with green beans and Mac and cheese. They gave me rice, then accused the door dasher of switching tiny cups .. unfortunately I was the one who picked up my order. I returned everything even the rice they didn't claim. I wanted nothing. The owner was not there, but if I were him I wouldn't trust the manager. I wouldn't pick up rice to return my meal untouched. There are massive fraud going on. They tried to give me a drink and I said no as I don't order soda. They are doing things behind the owner's back.

I've been here a couple times and it's been okay just haven't been overly impressed. Today the burnt ends were very good but the shredded pork and shredded brisket were just okay. For this whole play I paid $22 so it was not worth it for the quality of food that I got. It was a lot of food I was stuffed by the end
