Fresh, Fresh, Fresh! I just stopped for a late lunch and ordered the Heirloom tomato and steak salad weekly special. Everything including basil, buratta and the local heirloom tomatoes were so flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked. The chimichurri was the perfect combination to this seasonal salad. I recently spent a few days in Elizabeth City, and I want to give Hoppin’ Johnz a huge shoutout! Everything about this place was remarkable: the service, cleanliness, friendly staff and other guests, and especially the food. Alexis behind the bar was exceptional, going so far as to separate my ice and tea for my to-go drink to the hotel.
