We live for barbecue, and after seeing Boogie's on a PBS documentary, decided it was time for a 65-mile road trip to taste Boogie's! We were greeted by a very nice young lady & wait time was short. The turkey barbecue is to die for!! When I bit into the sandwich I could have sworn it was pork -- finely chopped & well-flavored with a vinegar-based sauce, the same as what I'd expect on pork. I had a barbecue chicken plate today with cabbage, green beans, and hush puppies. Let me tell you, it was phenomenal. The chicken was slow cooked but not overcooked fall off the bone deliciousness, the sauce was a perfect compliment as well. The cabbage was perfect great flavor and not mushy. I've lived in Eastern NC my whole life and tried hush puppies from many restaurants, these puppies were the best I've ever eaten literally. Was in area, decided to find a local BBQ business for take out. Turkey BBQ sounded interesting. What a find! Boogie's Turkey BBQ location/building exterior/interior spotlessly clean.
