Such a great local place with good comfort foods. Great staff and its in a nice little town. We retired in this area a few years ago and the Penny has been one of our regular places.

My husband and I have been several times to the Forest city location and a few to the Rutherfordton as well. The service is usually pretty good, atmosphere is cozy, however the food for us is usually a hit or miss.

Husband saw this place while doing business a few days before in town and wanted to bring me here . Stopped in to have a late lunch on way to Brevard for the weekend. Our food was good .. only issue is that the waitress brought our food and then didn’t check back until she brought the check .. we got up got our own napkins and to go cups finally. Wasn’t busy in there and saw at least 3 waitresses around. My husband still left a great tip as he usually does and says maybe...
