I tried grilled salmon for my 1st time tonight(dietary restrictions due to hypertension), it was ok, I don't have any comparison it was my 1st. But I've had several other dishes and my wife's 2 way combo with fried scallops and shrimp was great, I cheated and had 2 of the scallops, they were out the back door off the chain! My go to "fish camp" nowadays!Parking: Get there early or come late, if the restaurant is full so is the parking lot but there's a bank and other business right next door where parking is available. Maybe a 40 yard walk at the mostKid-friendliness: Great big shark in the foyer I see kids taking photos with, and the beach house atmosphere is welcoming”

“Finally tried Mario's, and I'm upset with myself for waiting so long. Having spent quite a bit of time in the Mediterranean with the Navy, it's refreshing to get the "farmhouse" experience again! Mario's is a super typical, ambiance neglected family style restaurant that you find everywhere in Southern Italy. The owners, despite the length of time spent in the US, run it just like they would back in the old country. Almost no staff, 70's and 80's decor, random music you can barely hear playing from decades old speakers...and the most authentic tasting Italian food I've had in a very long time. Everything about Mario's is utterly perfect for what it is. If you know, you know. And it is blessing they are located in Forest City NC. The lack of a broader customer base is allowing them to continue running the restaurant the way they want to, rather than watering it down to appease sheer masses. If you are in the mood for your Italian Grandma to complain you are looking too thin and to "Eat! Eat!" as she gives you two people's worth of food on a single plate...Mario's is your place!”

“The building they are in has been several eateries, but now this Hispanic restaurant is in there, and so far as 1st time consumers, it was delicious!! Definitely looking forward to trying some more plates & the way they have it arranged it is mucho better.”

“Food was fantastic! I got a number 14 and the chili Reno came out wrapped in a soft thin dough ball, which I've never seen before, but it was delicious. The burrito was on point and the rice actually had flavor. The cheese dip was super good, over great experience and food. I wish I didn't live so far away it would become my new favorite spot.”

“I have lived in this county for 10+ years & I had never eaten here until Friday night. I did order food at 8:10 p.m. ( They close @ 9 ) by phone & was told they were busy ( which I appreciated that they communicated that information. ) When I arrived to get my food, I did have to wait. Others were waiting as well. Lady apologized ? ??? about the wait to all of us. She was very polite. ( I'm not sure how many they have working in there either. ) All I know is the Egg Rolls ... ??????????????? ???? ?'?? ???? ???!!! They were sooooo delicious. “Hometown sort of dining experience featuring homemade chicken entrées and more, with great vegetable sides, bar with beer on tap, kids' menu, highchairs...etc. Dated interior and furnishings but that just adds all the more to its charm and relaxed atmosphere. Great country comfort food and similar sort of appeal!”

“The best and most authentic Mexican food you will find!! Never had anything that wasn't amazing from here. Tortas with al pastor is my favorite go to but the beef stew on Sat and Sun is sooo go too! They do have daily specials that are not on the menu they're happy to tell you about if asked ? the also occasionally have birria and let me tell you it's good???”

“We had an exceptional experience at Copper Penny with the exception of one thing.We started with the pimento cheese appetizer which was awesome. It was crunchy, creamy and just delicious. 5/5My son and I both had burgers and both of them were super okay but let me explain. I ordered the bourbon bacon burger and my son the cowboyBurger. Both were perfectly cooked. Both were perfectly seasoned but had the most important of hamburger fatal flaws: a stale bun. I don’t care howGood the burger is, if the bun sucks it’s all for naught. Can I get an AMEN?In seriousness, this place would’ve been a 5 if the bun was better. I’d certainly come back but wouldn’t get anything on a bun again.Service was exceptional.”

“I love this place and it's one that I'd call a throw back joint. It's not fancy and it looks like it's been here serving locals for a long time. My wife and I left a funeral home in nearby Sandy Mush, N.C. We had to attend a visitation. After this we were a bit hungry. I suggested Mickey D's! She wanted something more original. It's a hamburger joint that also serves various meat and three's. She got a hamburger with lettuce tomato and mayo. I tried two hotdogs and they were solid! We each had fries and sweet tea. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable! I'll be back!”

“While this place may not look like much, especially compared to Sakuras across the road. Time and time again this restaurant ends up satisfying me better than all other Japanese restaurants in Forest City. They have both the best tasting and the cheapest priced food in the area in regards to Japanese food. I cannot recommend them enough (not to mention their service is very good, too).”
