Omg y’all. Brisas has the best chicken and waffle dish I’ve ever had in my life. I live in Atlanta but I come to Goldsboro to visit my boyfriend’s family and we have been back to Brisas twice. I don’t know how they make their waffles but they’re sweet even without syrup.

We went for dinner after a day of traveling. Neither of us was very hungry so we ordered some apps. Of the three dishes we ordered - Brisas Caribbean Calamari, Sweet Plantains, Caribbean Wings - the Calamari was the standout. A fun version of a common dish. Would try the Calamari and Sweet Plantains again.

The Chef is incredible! Sunday Brunch - Creme Brulee French Toast? TO DIE FOR. - Service? Our server Sammy (Samantha) - so incredible - made the entire experience spectacular. Mimosas of different flavors - OMGosh. Tell Sammy 'to surprise you' with a flavor. Ask them to post their Sunday Brunch Menu - you won't be disappointed. Going back to dinner this week.

Fantastic food and the ambiance is perfect. The calamari is fried to perfection and served with deep fried pineapples. A must have! The sushi has plantain which gives it a very unique Latin twist. And there are other good items that keep me coming back as well. The staff are very friendly and personable. This place is truly a hidden gem. I’ll be back again & again!

Since I was in the area, I decided to eat at Brisas. I looked at the menu on their website prior to coming and decided to get the Rio Verde Shrimp. When arrived I was seated immediately. At the restaurant, I did not see the entree I was willing to try on the menu; either I over looked it or the menu has been updated. Since I did not see the entree I wanted on the menu, I decided to try shrimp monfongo, which I never had before. The shrimp monfongo was okay, I just imagined it to be a bit more flavorful. However, this was my first time having it so it’s possible the dish is as flavorful as it should be. Everyone from the maitre d’ and waitress were pleasant. The waitress check on me several times during my meal. I was told that the restaurant has a second level (I sat on the first level) with additional seating and a bar. As I was eating I saw music band entering the second level, so I assume the restaurant has live music. I almost forgot my umbrella when leaving and the maitre d’ caught me before I left to give it to me. I will possibly return in the future and try another dish and experience the live music.

Just left there about 2 hours ago and the food was awesome! Definitely recommend the calamari. Sam was our waitress she was very attentive and made the best drinks. I'm a bit particular with what I like and she was super accommodating. I will say the service and atmosphere were just as good as the good if not better. Bathrooms were very clean and smelled good which is always a pet peave of mine. If you go definitely try to have Sam as your server!

Waitress had a bad attitude

My friends and I have frequented this establishment several times and have never had an issu. Today my family and I were in for what we thought would be an amazing birthday brunch. We were very wrong. The food was mediocre. I was served a mushy waffle TWICE after informing the waitress that the 1st one was of poor quality. My mother was served and omelet with cheese, she cannot eat dairy. The menu does not mention cheese on the list of ingredients. It states .... "hollandaise sauce". When I informed the waitress that my mother cannot eat dairy, she stated... "thats not cheese, its sauce..." Another person came out and stated there was actually cheese in the omelet. The 1st waitress had a nasty attitude by the time we were given our checks. My sister asked how the gratuity was calculated and was basically brushed off and given attitude. The orders of grits were dryer than the sahara and way too thick. Mistakes were made, however, thats not the issue. The issue not correcting the issues after they were pointed out, lying about the ingredients, and the attitude! Today's birthday brunch experience was truly disappointing!!!
