Great local fresh seafood right from the NC Coast! Tommy Vail does a great job at ensuring a family-friendly environment with high-quality product. There is also live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.
I am a native Floridian and so I’m always comparing seafood to what I’m accustomed to eating.
We ordered half a dozen oysters as an appetizer, the parmesan and garlic bread ones. I requested that they were well done but when I received them, they were in fact NOT well done. They had a good flavor but were not the texture I prefer.
I ordered fried flounder with grilled shrimp, baked potato and a side salad. The fish is definitely not fresh....

Had a great dinner here Monday night with my family. My wife's mom was visiting us from Florida and she said Vailhouse had better seafood than she can find in Florida! She complimented the crab cakes, scallops, and grouper bites saying they're some of the best she's ever had. Lexi served us. She was very helpful and made the experience fun for us and all of our kids. Thank you! We will be back
