Barry's Walnut Island Restaurant and Lodge

If Terrence is cooking, don’t eat at Berry’s - I don’t even know how he could make four orders so incredibly bad, two of us literally could not eat our food at all!
And it took over an hour, not exaggerating- to get this horrible food.
The waitress made a comment about how they’ve had many many complaints lately so just warning you.

Unfortunately went to Barry’s tonight for a bite and take out spent 170.00 and it was disgusting. Ordered 1/2 lb steamed shrimp they were not cleaned or cooked right , we’re out of ribs pork chops and containers for my takeout. Got good home potato skins were not cooked, wings that are usually delicious were greasy fries were undercooked and seafood platter not so appealing either. Very disappointed since I always considered Barry’s 1?of the best places to eat in the area for the last 16 years. They need to get a real chef. When Barry did the cooking it was amazing!! Not so much and don’t think I’ll be back

Plume of black mold came out of the mini split when we turned it on. Beds were absolutely covered in ants. I know it’s just a motel, but mold is where I draw the line.

Food was good. The portions were a little small. Service was a bit slow because of understaffing. But I like to stop here when I'm down that way for a bike ride.

Barry and Donna are amazing people. They genuinely care about people. Barry's Crab Soup is one of the best kept secrets around. They create a contagious culture of caring individuals with whoever they are around. Love being around them. They give to so many charities and the community. They are always willing to help out those around them and know how to have fun. Give their restaurant and hotel a try. You won't regret it. Come stay at Barry's!
