Right now the place is closed for maintenance, which google doesn't say so i went there only to be disappointed....was really hoping to try them out so when it opens back up I'll update my rating!
Experience the greatness for yourself.
Awesome food friendly staff. I drove 50 miles for North Carolina's best Southern cooking and I got it. This restaurant is a must when you are in the Greensboro area.
I was visiting Greensboro for the AAU Junior Olympics and visited this restaurant. The staff was friendly and the food was fresh and good! Definitely a place to try if you’re in the area. I ordered a pork chop platter with Mac and cheese and rice and gravy.
The first time I dined with them they had whole chicken wings this time they did not but they charged the same price. They took two whole chicken wings and made them drummettes and wingettes to come up with 4 piece wing. That is not the same and the price should not have stayed the same.
Yesterday was dateNight, and I decided to come here, especially since it’s soul food. I got the fish and 2 sides. Well, I absolutely love bake Mac & cheese and yams. Yesterday. I wanted to cry. A waste!!! Food was horrible, I did eat my Mac & cheese but left the yams, the yams was horrible.. my husband ate my fish. I was very disappointed. However, the service was good….

Food was exactly what I needed! Some good ol’ fashioned soul food! Came from Raleigh to the Kids museum and stopped here otw home. I will be back for sure.
This place was AWESOME! The ambiance was beautiful, great food with some great people :) I loved the elevated surface. But, green beans was trash.
Looked online and saw the restaurant was open until 8pm according to Google. Placed a quick online order at 6:55pm. Arrived at the restaurant at about 7:15pm and no one had knowledge of my order even though it was confirmed and paid for online. Was advised by the owner that the website menu closes at 7pm and the restaurant was closed leaving me the option to be refunded or pick up order the next day. Then wasted about 20 minutes because the system all of a sudden couldn’t refund my money. Was never provided any type of courtesy or apology for the system issues or waste of my time, gas, and still having to find alternatives to feed my family. 1st and LAST visit there!

The food is unseasoned and nasty. I was looking for a good soul good restaurant ordered 50.00 worth of food wasted my money soon as I tasted the Mac and cheese I wanted to throw up. Tasted the collard greens and cabbage they tasted like caned veggies no seasoning what so ever potatoes wedges over floured and just nasty only thing that I liked was the basic cornbread.
This is one of the absolute best soul food restaurant’s in Greensboro. The staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. The owner came out before we left just to make sure we enjoyed our experience. I will definitely be back!
So the reason I chose this place was bc their menu had liver & onions. Unfortunately, they no longer serve that dish, however they do have lots of good soul food. The chicken is good and the chicken wings are big. The pork chops also were tasty & not overdone. All of the veggies were good but okra was my favorite. We will certainly go back bc they were very friendly and that also helps!
Heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to try it! The greens were cooked too long but seasoned very well. The sweet potatoes needed a pinch more cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar, however, the fried chicken was cooked to perfection! Would highly recommend!
Ms. Arlene and her staff are amazing. This space is beautiful!!! I ordered the gizzards, sweet potatoes, and okra. Everything was great! They also have events and activities throughout the week. They are shorthanded so be patient and Ms. Arlene says she is hiring.
Vegetarian options: You can order a vegetable platter with cornbread.
Parking: Ample parking
