Common Grounds offers an incredible selection of coffee with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Located conveniently on Walker Ave or Elam, it boasts a great atmosphere with live music most evenings from 7 pm. The cozy space has a fast and friendly barista serving delicious coffee, like the Angela Bassett with dark chocolate, lavender, and vanilla latte. It’s a cool, divey place where you can relax and play some games, with retro coin slot arcade games, a pool table, an old piano, and a chess board. The decor is rustic and vintage, and there’s comfortable couch seating to study or work. Along with coffee, they have a small beer selection. The community vibe adds to its charm, though the seating arrangements can sometimes feel awkward, and outdoor smoke may drift inside. Parking can be a challenge due to limited space, so carpooling is recommended.
