The speaker at this location is horrible. When we tried to order they repeatedly stated they could not hear us. We asked to pull up and when we got there asked to finish our order since they could not hear us. We were told that they could not do it and that we would have to go back and get in line to finish our order. We were also told they were “out of chicken for the night” at 12:30am.

It all started when we went to the Cook-Out on W. Market St. and ordered 4 trays at the drive-thru, which was the only way to order at that particular location. Didn't check the order because I thought that all locations were consistent in their quality control. I was so wrong. When I got home, we opened the bag and you would have thought the Styrofoam boxes had been canonized they were so holy-from all the hot grease-all 4 boxes. 33 dollars down the drain... So I called the number on the bag and it was immediately answered by the manager who apologized and sent coupons for the 4 trays. But going back, we chose the Battleground Ave. location because they have a dine-in area and their reputation is much better. They apologized again and made up for the mistakes of the other store. Needless to say, we won't be going back to the W. Market St. Cook-Out ever again

From around 11:14pm on 2/13, to 11:28pm, I waited patiently for my order to be taken via the drive through. I was 3rd in line on the right side. After they went through, 3 cars on the left side had their orders taken. The associate was very short and rude to each customer, even though they were doing the most, there was no reason to treat all of them in that manner. When it was my turn, I thought it would be ok because I’ve waited at least a good 8 minutes after his last order, maybe he calmed down. I give my order (big double burger, a1style with cheese, slaw and Cajun fries for the sides). He ask for my drink order, and I said, “Real Cherry” He said, “Is that it?” right before I said, add Heath toffee to it and he made this sound that gave me the impression that I had just spit in his face. Out of fear for my food. I cancelled my order and said never mind. I wanted to tell him about himself, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. I know how customers are, and they were doing the most, but I wasn’t that customer and I deserved kindness as I was giving it to him. I waited in line to drive right by him. I was even going to say, “I’m sorry for the way these folx are treating you”, but he was gonna open that window for me to talk to him. He knew I was not happy. He seemed younger and overworked and I wasn’t going to scold him. I didn’t see any other associates on site. Usually, there is someone doing something. This was not ok for him to be in this situation. If he was a new manager by himself, shame on y’all for doing that to him and putting him in that situation. If you polled all the customers right before me, they would tell you that he was short with them and plain out rude.

Let’s face it - this has to he the worst cookout in Greensboro. I mean, if the lowest level of “customer service” was an award category - they’d win it. Don’t waste your time with repeating your order back two, three or four times (depending on if the speakers work)…just be prepared for it to be wrong. The worst thing outside of these two things is the fact that it got “rebuilt & remodeled” after the fire.

Cook Out is always a solid choice for good food, and this visit was no different. I ordered two trays, and while everything tasted great, I noticed one small inconsistency—one tray had the double fries I requested, but the other didn’t.
It’s a bit disappointing since I always look forward to those extra fries, but I guess I have to accept that consistency with this request isn’t guaranteed. That said, the food was still delicious overall, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.
Cook Out remains a reliable spot for satisfying, affordable eats!
The chocolate milkshake was soo good! Dreaming about the next time I can get one!
The burger was soo delicious. We ordered through drivethru and they were super helpful with the ordering process.

The only cookout I’ve been to that doesn’t have quesadillas. Yet they are the easiest to make?
