The old fashion cake taste just like one my aunt use to make by scratch several decades ago. Prices are okay but not as good as they use to be. Getting a little pricey so don't buy as often as I use too.
The atmosphere is absolutely a place to relax and enjoy your slice of cake or pie. The line was quick as I viewed all my favorite choices to eat. The texture of the cakes are slightly heavy and not light.

I have enjoyed maxie b's now for over 14 years. I first tried them at a bridal shower and it was delicious so I had to try more flavors. I do have to say I'm not a fan of their pound cake but that's probably because no one compares to my granny. The atmosphere is so cute and quaint and relaxed here. I love that over the years they have expanded and added a seating area that has a fire place, kid seating and books for the Littles.
