Gate City Sports Grille

We came in hungry after traveling. Martin, our waiter, was friendly and attentive. Took our order and served our food quickly-- all while giving us a welcoming smile. Refilled our water glasses. Checked to make sure we were happy with our food and asked if we needed anything else. Jesse, our cook, also came out to ask if we were pleased with the food. We were! It was cooked perfectly and arrived piping hot. Portions were huge. We had fish and chips and a beyond burger and split a salad. Everything was delicious. The experience was worthy of a 5 star review. Fabulous service. Well prepared food. Great attitude.

We are staying at the Doubletree Hilton and decided to give their little Sports Grill a try. I cannot say enough about how pleasantly pleased I was with this little gem. We sat at the bar and Martin was attentive and prompt with our order. The fish and chips were absolutely amazing. The fish was so fresh and flaky. My husband also said his Chicken Philly was fabulous! The chef stuck his head out to check on us to see if we were pleased which for a small sports bar was a nice touch. Friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere. Definitely a 5/5!

We were sceptical when we walked in because of outdated reviews and the dining room was empty but we walked around to the bar side and there were customers and the bartender Sidney, who was also waitressing. We talked to her and she told us to sit wherever we wanted. We chose to go into the empty dining room. She brought our menus and drinks within minutes. We acknowledged that we knew she was the only one working and she was very nice and attentive while working both rooms. We ordered the Korean fried cauliflower appetizer and OMG, it was fantastic! Fried perfectly with a sweet chili sauce that had the perfect hint of spicy.(We ate it all before the picture) We also got a reuban sandwich with the best onion rings, The chicken quesadilla which was also amazing and the Gate City Burger which was layered perfectly with 2 burgers, onions, mushrooms, cheese, bacon and bbq sauce. Plenty enough to make 2. Served with yummy french fries. Everything was so good! I'm glad we didn't form an opinion based on old reviews. I would absolutely recommend eating here. Great food, big portions, reasonable pricing and service with a smile!

Talk about someone that knows how to cook!! Eric, the chef at Gate City Grill, is awesome and clearly aims to please. My husband and I are pescatarians and he made us the BEST veggie quesadillas we’ve ever had in our lives. I mean the flavor was sooo good! I can imagine that Eric can make pretty much anything because he definitely knows how to season and make food taste so amazing! We could not get enough and ordered it every time we could. I look forward to coming back and trying more of Eric’s food if I can pry myself away from his delicious quesadillas. Thanks for doing your job so well Eric, you are the best! A true asset to the DoubleTree Hilton team.

What a joke one of the biggest sports nights of the year and the sports grill is closed. I’ll never come back here again.

Just No!

False advertisement. The advertised menu only has few sandwiches, appetizers and desserts.The restaurant is very old outdated. It is connected to the adjacent hotel.

Menu online is not the same menu as restaurant. Half of the food was refrigerator cold, half was hot. Food had no taste at all. Definitely pass on this place, even if you're staying at the double tree where it's located.
